Losing Items in Chests

Hi, I just experienced a bug on Blood Lodge/Autohaven where I opened the basement chest and put my broken key down in the chest to pick up a medkit and heal myself & when I went back to pick up my key it was completely gone. It was not in the chest or anywhere around it. This is game breaking and incredibly bad and inconvenient, PLEASE fix this bug!
