Crazy idea to balance SWF and solo survivor
I would like to preface this by saying I primarily play survivor in at least a duo squad if not more.
I believe that a viable way to balance the game so that solo survivors and SWF have a more equal chance of survival, cause let's be real SWF definitely have a communication advantage as well as potentially a skill advantage, is to restrict access to the number of repeat perks SWF can use. This is not to say that SWF cannot use meta perks or use 4 perk slots, but to say that they must decide how many meta perks each member gets to run.
For instance, if each SWF team can only run one copy of each perk then that will force them to balance their kits around each other. To do this, the game would have to lock survivors into their perk load-outs and characters, and it should be this way for killer as well to keep things fair, during the lobby time. SWF members would be unable to ready up in the survivor lobby if any of their fellow SWF members had on one of the same perks as them. Since solos survivors are not together in a survivor lobby prior to joining a game, they would not have this restriction, so while a 4 man SWF team could only have 1 ds between them 4 solo survivors could potentially have 4 ds. I think this would be an excellent balance change that could shake up SWF builds, and even lead to unique sub-classes on teams, like one person running saving perks like "we'll make it" and "borrowed time" and another running information perks like "spine chill", "object of obsession", and "alert"
In my case, my current build is "adrenaline", "we'll make it", "alert", and "lithe", so no other survivor in my SWF would be unable to run these perks, however any survivors I got randomly paired with could be running these perks.
I do think that certain high-ranking killers would need to receive slight nerfs to compensate as a balance change (looking primarily at spirit and nurse). I am interested in hearing anyone else's thoughts on this idea. I thought it was a unique idea that I have not seen mentioned before.
