Think about it! (Until Dawn could be right...)
They are remastering Ormond. Ormond has a setting extremely similar to that of Until Dawn. Blackwood Mountain is Until Dawn's fictional mountain set in Alberta, Canada. Ormond is coincidentally also set in Alberta, Canada.
"Our past can sometimes be a burden" the burden of accidentally killing Hannah and Beth just to make a cruel joke, and thus now Hannah and Beth coming to kill the other characters.
"...that drives us to the most dangerous places in search of answers and hope..." signifying the new danger due to The Wendigo now lurking in the forested mountains. Samantha "Sam" Giddings, one of the characters in Until Dawn was seen in the beginning of the game listening to a podcast about the killing of Hannah and Beth up in Blackwood Mountain. Sam would be the most inquisitive and the most in search of answers. Remember that Sam was Hannah's best friend.
cutting to the actual teaser video, you can see a forested, snowy area. Perhaps thematically the trees in the distance* are all visually black? Regardless, when the "killer" pops up in the teaser, it is quite noticeably low profile, the lowest profile of all killers currently in the game. What also has an extremely low profile that is also in Until Dawn? The Wendigo. Notice the length and color of the arm and the distinct lack of a weapon in this image compared to the teaser, as well as the feminine growl/screeching.
Notice the timing of the chapter as well, this would be the winter chapter just as Darkness Among Us was also a winter chapter.
Hopefully this wasn't too lengthy of a read, I just had fun discussing the theory with my closest friends and regardless of what it turns out to be I can't wait to play it in the near future!

Here is something that I've been thinking besides not being from until dawn.
Maybe just maybe we will get another variation from ormond not just the same pain ormond but with more graphics.

The thing is, the odds are stacking against it being licenced. When a teaser, or a full trailer, has a licensed character in it they are legally required to put trademarks at the end of the video. This teaser had none. They've moved away from giving licensed killers teasers recently, the last one to get one was Pig, and only giving them full on Trailers. It's probably something to do with licensing issues, or something. Multiple sources have claimed it's gonna be original, and there's the tried and true fact that Sony doesn't like sharing their toys. It was legal hell to get Horizon Zero Dawn on PC, I imagine it'd be way harder to get a character from Until Dawn in another game, let alone a game on PC and X-Box.
Silent Hill is a far older game, and Konami is probably going to release a new Silent Hill game soon, so that explains the Silent Hill chapter fairly well, and Bill wasn't on PS4 for a long time. I think it'll probably be a Wendigo, or something similar, just not... The Until Dawn Wendigo. Until Dawn didn't invent Wendigo. I'm just a bit worried that people will hype this up, then be disappointed when it's not what they wanted. I don't think that's fair to BHVR, who have made no signs to this being Until Dawn. Normally, when they have a license, they're pretty obvious about it.

You never know... BHVR May have been smart about some of the caveats of having DBD as part of PS+ some time ago. One of those caveats being that they wanted Sony to be open to licensing IP for DBD.
Chapter 18 will be the very first chapter since the release of PS5. And PS+ Collection on PS5 will introduce a host of new players to Until Dawn that never got a chance to play it on PS4.
It could very well make a good marketing ploy to have an Until Dawn chapter, have it get player base from Xbox, PC, and Switch curious about the game, and get them to purchase a PS5 and PS+ for all the free games they can finally try that they never did before hand.
Of course i’m really reaching here.
But it’s always fun to throw theories around when a new DBD teaser drops.

Sounds plausible, until you consider BHVR’s lack of creativity with hints thus far. The 4 being Pyramid Head was the most clever they’ve gone with teasers.

Straight up, I don't think Sony is that smart. Or they just don't care. Sony could EASILY make so much money if they released some of their exclusives, buy they're so IP protective any chance to make money ends with "No, mine >:(" they weren't even gonna add crossplay to popular games until half the internet had a breakdown over it. Sony just doesn't care, they like their things right where they left them, away from the hands any other pesky companies.
If it is Until Dawn, I will gladly eat my words.

That's true but I don't think we can expect them to keep up with the "2 original 2 licensed a year" thing. Licenses can be hard to aquire. There was a period of time where we didn't get a SINGLE license, from Clown all the way to Plague, four killers - a full year.

I could believe the tweet but Fog Whisperers aren't given any information in regards to future chapters. At least that's what Paulie has said and I don't think he's the type of person to lie about it.

1) Teaser has no trademarks. If you look to any licensed chapter trailer/teaser, they always have license holders trademarks.
2) Leak sites have revealed that chapter 18 characters could be bought with shards
3) Devs on one of recent streams mentioned that the chapter is OG (I'm not going to bother looking for a proof here, so I allow you not to consider this as an argument, although 1 and 2 is enough to be sure chapter 18 is original).
Although I'm quite positive the new killer is going to be running on all 4s, have animalistic traits and just be an overall inspired by Wendigo, I'm sure this is not Until Dawn wendigos.

I don't belive it's licensed, I just wanted concrete proof that it wasn't. As the person who commented seemed pretty certain. We still don't know. We're just making opinions based on the evidence we have.

Information we have is already more than enough to make right conclusion that the chapter isn't licensed. There's literally no way the teaser of a LICENSED character, featuring part of him ( I assume the hand is the part of the killer and not survivor) wouldn't have a trademark of the licence.

Both the Freddy and Saw teaser trailers didn't have trademarks either.
The price according to the leaks is irrelevant, as the devs can go in and change it a day or two before the PTB drops, as they have done in the past with the Blight.
I'm not going to comment on the devs comments, that seems like concrete proof but I'd really need to see the clip to comment on it.
Again, I DO NOT BELIEVE THIS CHAPTER IS LICENSED. I'm just saying we don't have enough proof to suggest it.
