Can I ask the reason why "Any Means Necessary" animation duration got raised to 4 seconds?
I thought pallet stuns took less than three seconds to finish? And Killers can just cancel out the AMN animation by breaking the pallet right? Or did survivors have enough time to set them back up after a stun?

There is no reason, they gave it the Legion treatment.
I hope it gets reverted back to 3 seconds.

Because you used to be able to pallet save and have time to pick the pallet back up before the killer got out of stun.

because killer attack cooldown is 3.2

It was mostly ran to double stun the killer rather than punish a killer for not breaking it immediately. It being one a minute timer and having a score event makes it fine for me.

If I were to change This perk I would make it so when lifting a pallet the killer can’t break it and it takes 3 secs. After that the perk is on cooldown for 80/70/60 seconds. This would actually make people want to bring this perk.

is that really it? like, officially?
hmmm, but why is this a problem? the only reason why the killer's succesful attack cooldown would be "countered" with AMN is if the killer hit the survivor while they were throwing down a pallet, and by then, you'd probably get stunned and that would cancel the 3.2 second cooldown and replaced with the 2.(something) stun cooldown. And even IF you got stunned or not, you would already be on the other side of the pallet watching the survivor do the AMN animation, all you'd have to do is step back and make the survivor waste the pallet throw.

Wasn't it always 4 seconds? They made the cooldown faster and that's it.

I've never actually seen this happen.

In the PTB it was 3 seconds and I think tiers I&II had even longer cooldown, but I'm not sure.
EDIT: I was right about the cooldown.

To make sure no one ever manages to use the perk.

it was 3 on ptb i believe

it was 3 seconds in Oni and Yui's Chapter PTB. Then they increased it to 4 seconds when the chapter went live. It was just the other day that they reduced the cooldown timer to 80/70/60 seconds.

It wasn't announced officially, but it's a fair bet to make that they nerfed it because you could do this: saving a teammate without losing any resources is really strong. At least flashlights can be baited or avoided, with pallet saves you can't do much except waste time sweeping the surrounding area for a survivor that might not be there, but at least the survivors lose resources saving.

To me, their changes suggest that your ideas are actually opposite of how they want people utilizing the perk.
Granting extra opportunities at the expense of a longer set-up time (and just above the chase-time the move buys) would indicate they don't want you lifting pallets in front of the killer at all.
IMO, using it in front of the killer feels anti-thematic too, while the game already has problems where killers feel weaker than survivors; and the only real value to double-stuns seems to be bullying... which is the last damn thing this game needs to facilitate these days.
It's not an active chase tool, it's about strategy and support. It's a brain play for setting routes the killer takes for granted, whether for yourself or someone else later, and something you can utilize when someone else is being chased provided the killer doesn't notice you revitalizing even a pallet that they even saw dropped just 10 seconds prior. Even if its not designed for a chase, they kept the set-up short enough to apply in a hunt.... being where the killer is still on you in that area but you've dodged them just long enough to convert that time into the perk for a guaranteed window you'll sprint away unimpeded.
In the right conditions, it's a perk that might give you even a second or third use of what people call "The God Pallet," so I'm thinking there's enough value without it helping to dunk on killers even more... at least not without something risky to somewhat earn that double dunk anyhow

Your "analysis" completely disregards(quite conveniently I would say) the fact that killers instantly break any pallet that's even remotely good.

To stop it being a troll perk.
The intended purpose is to reset pallets the survivor happens to come across out of a chase.
Instead, it was used to try get killers to rage quit, because it would also be used in conjunction with flashlight blinds or head on stuns with nearby lockers.

I remember when it first came out you could almost instantly pick it back up.
You could loop a killer at shack then drop the pallet stun him and pick it back up before he was out of the stun animation then just keep running or stun him again.

In all my killer matches I've never seen anyone abuse this perk. In all my YouTube and twitch viewing I've never seen anyone abuse this perk. If this could have been abused there would have been a much higher usage of this perk. I'm skeptical of the reasoning for the nerf to 4 seconds.

Considering how short a time frame it was 3 seconds for I dont see that logic adding up. Honestly even if it was abusable though Id rather they let it go live and then nerf it once its been abused.
