Ghost Face is a Poor Killer.

Do you know what is fun? Getting spotted from behind a wall. You know what is even more fun? Looking straight at ghost face and not revealing him at all. This guy is so weak, sometimes. Other times he is the boogeyman, taking out survivors left and right. Ghost Face is what I refer to as a "poor" killer, as in while their power might be ok, the opportunities to use their power effectively are either too hard to set up or are too hard to get consistent use out of. Ghost Face is suffers from a bit of both.

So why is he a "poor" killer? Three problems. First off, his base cooldown is way to long. 30 seconds means that even after you down someone and hook them, you still have to wait about 10 more seconds before you can enter night shroud again. Secondly, we have the reveal. The reveal is complete and utter trash for both sides. It makes no sense. As a killer, it is hard to tell if someone can or cannot reveal ghost face as it is based on the survivor's camera, not where their survivor is looking. For survivors, it is based on the percentage of Ghost Face in the center of the screen. So in other words, if Ghost Face is right in front of you, you can't reveal him. If he is watching you from a window far away, you can. Sometimes. Both of them have to deal with the worst enemy in the game. Vegetation. It completely breaks the reveal in new and always unpleasant ways for both parties.

Finally we have the 99. You see, when Ghost Face exposes a survivor, they get an alert so they know to run away. To avoid this, Ghost Face 99's them so all he has to do is touch the stalk button once to reveal them. One problem. Timing. Why? The amount of stalk you gain per second can vary greatly. This makes it very hard to time a 99 at times, especially with certain addons like Ghost Face Caught on Tape. Another fun fact is that if you stab someone with stalk progress, the stalk progress goes away. So if your cooldown is active and you see someone who is 99'd, you just have to stand there and wave your hand angrily. Adding to this issue is how inconsistent Ghost Face's lean is on certain maps, and since stalking when leaning is quicker, this causes more issues with timing.

That being said, Ghost Face is the Best stealth killer in the game. No other killer comes close to the amount of times I have ambushed a poor survivor who had no idea that I was coming. Ghost Face is the only killer who is truly capable of sneaking up on someone and getting a free hit, and his ability to inflict exposed only adds to that power.

I don't think Ghost Face is weak or bad, I think he is needs some QOL changes for both survivors and killers so that playing as him or against him is more consistent.

If you know how GF's detection works its pretty easy to avoid detection, even if the survivor knows you're location.

They do, I think, need to have a better visual cue to show survivors if they're actually exposing him or not.

Its bad being on the other side of the fence when you're staring right at him, and you can't reveal him. All of a sudden you're marked and downed. They need to work out all the bugs in him.

I personally love playing Ghost Face. It's easy to turn from serious damage dealer sneaking around to friendly meme Killer. I do think him being exposed is a bit wonky though. I ran to one with him on the center of the screen and he exposed me before I did him. He was in the open! Then other times I reveal him or get revealed without even knowing how it happened or where.

I have gotten pretty good at avoid detection, but I still feel like the mechanic could use some fine tuning. I think that survivors should have to actually look at the direction of the killer, but may make it too hard to reveal ghost face in certain situations.

As a Ghostface main since his release, I would at least like his power cooldown to be reduced. 30 seconds is way too crippling and it makes him severely addon dependant.

The main trouble with his power is having a really easy counter (and broken). Being sneaky only works probably the first 2 minutes of the match, after that everyone knows they're facing a ghostface so they're always flicking their cameras everywhere. Something that always happens to me is, stalking a survivor and someone else from behind looks at me and I lose the entire power plus they reveal my location to the one i was sneaking. Chances of actually marking a survivor with exposed are barely 2 in a full match for me (being green rank). But also when playing against one, no matter how much I see him he just keeps marking me.
