I used to make an effort to help my teammates if they got hit with NOED but after multiple times finding they ignored the dull totems that were next to the gens they completed (especially when I did 4/5 totems) I just leave. If they can't be bothered to take few seconds to cleanse a totem right next to them in the open I can't be bothered to risk saving them at end game.

I thought it was pretty much accepted that, if someone gets downed by NOED, the other survivors should just leave in order to deny more easy kills for the killer

My order is open the gate (or 99 it), look for the lit totem, and either cleanse it and then go for the rescue or abandon the poor bastard hooked if the killer comes sniffing my direction.

All going for the hooked guy with NOED still on the board generally does is get more people killed.

OP: As someone who runs Inner Strength, I'm always looking for totems. However as a solo, I can virtually guarantee that NOED will be in play at the end anyway cause I'm pretty sure everyone else flat out refuses to do bones.
