Deathslinger vs Huntress

Honest question... Why do people hate deathslinger and not huntress?

They're both ranged, slinger has infinite ammo but tbh it's not hard to reload as huntress. And a skilled huntress can down you from much further away while slinger has to reel you giving that (admittedly very small) extra chance to escape.

I see a lot of slinger hate but not huntress, if someone could clarify why for me I'd appreciate it.

(and yes I did post this as a comment in another discussion, and yes I've literally copy and pasted it. But now I'm thinking about it I really want to know)

Most likely because Huntress can't instant throw her Hatchets, and she has to wind-up for the best throw at a distance. Deathslinger can quickscope shot, and if the killer is skilled, it's mostly unavoidable. Though, ask the right people and Huntress can get a lot of hate for her Iri Head and Infantary Belt combo.

Honestly I dislike Huntress more than Deathslinger, because her hatchet hitbox loves getting hits that don't look like they should have landed.

I prefer Slinger to Huntress. Huntress iri hatchets alone are reason enough to prefer Slinger, atleast for him to instadown with an addon he has to be certain distance away. The notification that you're in his line of site is way better to help dodge hits and you can fight to prevent being downed with the second hit.

Slinger gets far more chances to shoot survivors, huntress you can easily loop around any high wall tile forcing her to make a 50/50 if you'll throw down the pallet - she needs to pre-wind up or if they keep running - she needs to follow for M1. She's far deadlier when she can thow but the opportunities to throw are much lower compared to slinger.

With slinger you need to predict before the pallet if he'll shoot or not, making him the one in control of the outcome and surivors beiing forced to read him far more then he needs to read them. Other then that, it's the constant fear of getting shot as he can do so at any time he sees you making a read on him in the open is extrmely unlikely.

There are other things like TR problems and M2 ADS spam, etc that add to this but imao the core issues is that he's got very strong antiloop making him nightmare for people who enjoy basic looping. I for one love his gameplay and each time I face slinger it's a lot of fun for me.

Slinger is better in a 1v1, huntress has less chances to use hatchets but is more deadlier to anyone out of position. both lack map pressure.

I personally think huntress is better as multiple survivors together can hinder deathslinger and deathslinger lacks good snowball potential while huntress is very good at snowballing and getting back to back hits. she just can do better more often because of those moments and unlike deathslinger when her hatchet hits she always takes a health state and it's faster than deathslinger having to reload and reel in a survivor and if he can't and the chain breaks he barely benefits. huntress can also throw hatchets over objects and they are not restricted by range so good huntresses can land far nastier hits than a deathslinger.

edit: forgot to say why he's hated, a killer that's better in a 1v1 feels more unfair than a better killer who isn't specialized in that category. people don't look at the 4v1 aspect to the game when it comes to this they mainly just consider their own experience in that game.

In the moment I dont like to play against huntress. Since Billy has been nerfed Im playing 3/5 matches against her... -,- Same was when DSlinger was released. Actually I like playing against them and playing themselve. They can end up chases quickly, thats why people dont like them I guess.

DS better utilises his small TR as he doesnt have the lullaby. His shot has a max range of 18metres? Monitor and abuse drops his TR to 12Metres and trails of torment turn him into a stealth killer as he makes hardly any noise other than his shot, even tinkerer will get you grabbed off gens. Both are slow and struggle to maintain map pressure unless the huntress is insane which is very rare. That being said it can be hard to avoid an extremely fast shot with an 18metre range while roaming with a 12metre TR.
