Trials keep getting cancelled

ive tried playing two trials now, both of which started completely normal and played completely normal, until they just suddenly got cancelled.
the game then told me that "The trial got cancelled because someone failed to load in" - 1 or 2 minutes into the trial (and yes, there was an AFK survivor each time)
and from what ive seen on the forum by now, this seems to be a problem multiple people have on the European servers right now.
so apparently the game just starts the trial without having everyone loaded in correctly and then cancells it because the 5th player (who was still in his loading screen) suddenly lost his connection midway through.
and of course any BP gained while the trial was playable get taken away.
