Possibly an exploit, need confirmation.
I've been playing killer recently and I'm finding survivors will attempt to go for some questionable saves and then I down them right next to the hook. The survivor (Mostly blendette and meg mains) will then crawl under the hook in a spot where I cannot pick them up, forcing me to face camp until the survivor dies so I can pick the survivor up. I need to know if this is an exploit or not, so I know if I should report players using it.

I thought they fixed this, yea, its a thing survivors can do while down to waste a Killer's time.

i had that problem once but the guy on the hook let himself off and he just stood there and let me hook the other guy let me kill him

The reason I ask is because yes, this was a bug previously, but it seems to have reappeared. I was never too sure if it was considered an exploit or not. Personally I've never used it as I'm worried it might be as well as the killer usually just face camping that survivor, giving them a kill for literally no reason other than "I wanted to not be picked up next"

It very well might be an exploit but it's also a terrible strategy for survivors. The two remaining survivors will not be able to finish enough generators to make the loss of 2 survivors worth it.

While I do agree it's a terrible strategy, the main point of this thread was to ask if it was classified as an exploit or not. I'd like to try and keep on topic if that's okay (Not to take away from the fact that I did go off topic myself!)

They can do it but then you get 2 guaranteed kills at the same time so its their loss

The developers are constantly tinkering with the size of the hooked survivor's hitbox for some reason. At times it grows so big that its physically impossible for the killer to hit an unhooker, because the hooked hitbox overlaps with the unhookers, effectively giving them a free safe.
I assume the downed survivor crawling under the hooked is no different from that.

Honestly, I miss times where there was no hitbox at all. All this hitbox "jUkEs" are bullshit that shouldn't have place in these particular cases. If survivors goes for risky hook he must take a hit and not get carried by game sending killer's attack into hooked survivors instead of the unhooked because it just works.

It is an exploit.

Not a clear confirmation of whether or not it is an exploit, but this post suggests that it is not an exploit:

It is more or less a bug, so please report it here: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/categories/bugs
Please don't report them. Check out the game rules: https://forum.deadbydaylight.com/en/kb/articles/139-game-rules Usually if something is bad enough to be banned for, it'll be here until it's fixed.
