Is it supposed to work like this???
Okay so I've recently bought the Chains Of Hate DLC and this was my second match as Slinger. I get paired with these people even though I've never used this killer. Thanks to rank reset and that I've been learning Myers I went from rank 8 to 10 so why are the survivors I play agaisnt in red ranks?????? Is this supposed to happen or is MMR glitchy again??

There is no MMR; it's purely based on ranks. Matchmaking has never worked that well and right now, it feels like there literally is no matchmaking; it just throws people into random games.

Devs have said they are working to implement MMR for a hit minute so at the moment best bet is to just power through the suck that is current matchmaking... that or derank down to brown and hope for the best if you are trying to learn new killers

MMR system isn't up right now as far as I know so it's just basic rank matchmaking. You've probably waited a little while so game decided to increase the rank range of players to give you a faster game resulting in having red/purple ranks in your lobby.
It sucks but nothing anyone can really do right now, MMR test was one of the worst times I had in DBD (constant spam of new players with less then 50h each game, it was horrible and reverse for newer/mid ranks players getting really high rank opponents) so enabling it early is a bad idea. You just need to stick up with it for now.
It would certainly help if devs finally added practise range, even just beiing albe to start custom game would be a step in a right direction.

That's just MM working as 'intended' at this point. I'm stuck at Rank 13 killer because of the crappy system. I get maybe 1 yellow rank and the rest are always purples and if I'm super unlucky, a red gets thrown in there too. I feel like MM is cursed to keep people low rank!

Why would they do that? I'm not only looking for ranking up but mostly to play against people of my level and not depip 6 out of 7 matches.

They do intend to bring MMR based matchmaking back, but all we know right now is that they're working on it after the time it was implemented and somehow achieved the impossible task of making matchmaking even worse.

Couldn't tell you honestly. MM has been borked for so long now it's like second nature to expect a rainbow in your match. Until MM is either fixed or MMR is re-activated, these are the kinds of matches to expect.

I've been getting those survivor ranks and below as a purple ranked killer currently. You really shouldn't be experiencing that kind of matchmaking.
