Just saw the movie yesterday, and enjoyed it quite a lot. I loved Vince Vaughn as a Jason / Michael mock-up killer and I couldn’t help but think about how cool he would be in DBD, especially because of his unique power premise. I wanted to get this out quickly and (hopefully) be the first, so many things like add-ons are a WIP if people like this post.

 

New Killer - The Butcher


Lore:

Barnie Calvin Garris (Apparently the killers name though I don't remember it being revealed in the movie), an aging serial killer, has boasted a career of slaughter for decades - because he has never been caught. His signature style revolves around murdering teens leading up to and on the Homecoming dance, using a variety of weapons and his environment to artfully slay the party goers. After his ritual return to killing, Barnie finds an ancient Aztec dagger, that speaks to his bloodlust. The dagger guides him to a sacrifice, a young girl in a Beaver mascot costume. After catching and stabbing her however, the two swap bodies. Under his new guise of a teenage girl, the butcher continues his killing spree, this time able to trick his victim's thinking him innocent. That was, until, the original girl fights back in his own body. After a night of murder and conflict, the Girl stabs Barnie with his dagger, and the two swap bodies. During the swap however, Barnie finds himself in a new place, in his original body again, and with his dagger. He hears its call for blood, but also a second, overpowering voice calling for a violent show. Let the games begin.

 

Appearance:

·      The Butcher is a large, albeit slightly overweight, aging man whose bloodlust still gives him strength. He is most similar to The Shape in demeanour, although his breathing is quieter and more rapid, and he has a more aggressive walk.

·      He wears a wooden (?) artefact mask, a tattered brown shirt and jeans.

·      Breaking animation: He stabs his knife in and slides it along, shearing the gen / pallet.

 

Weapon: Sacrificial knife

·      It is a white, bone knife with a totem head one end. The eyes glow red during his abilities. Swings it normally in a downward slice.

·      Reload animation: He rubs his thumb along the blade and then sucks the blood off his thumb.

 

Power: Body Swapper

 Ability Button : La Dola

·      Hold M2 to charge up a short ranged stab attack. On hit, use the Aztec Sacrificial knife, La Dola, to injure a survivor, and swap bodies with them (or down them).

·      When swapped, The Butcher appears as a normal survivor (who he swapped with), with no terror radius or red stain, in third person and able to sprint and vault, albeit slower than normal survivors. You are able to feign objectives including gens, chests, totems etc and appear to perform the animation.

·      When swapped, The Butcher May use M2 to perform an attack with a kitchen knife (lunge or swing same as normal killer), however upon doing so (hit or miss) he will return to his original body.

·      If the swapped Butcher is near an interactable with another survivor (Gen, healing, pallet, vault, totem, chest) he may hold the CTRL button to perform improvised attack, where they will grab the survivor and attack them with the object; slam their head onto the gen / window / pallet, drop a pallet on them, whack them with the totem, shut the chest on them etc to instantly down the survivor and return to your original body.

 

Passive: Swapped

When you use La Dola on a survivor and swap with them, the survivor will also experience changes:

·      The survivor will appear in the killer's first person view, and may still move around the map, unable to sprint and suffering from the broken status effect. The survivor has the killers terror radius and red stain. The swapped survivor may interact with generators, heals, totems, hooks and pallets, but receives a moderate reduction in action speeds.

Swapping back:

·      Holding CTRL when not near an interactable will swap back to your original body instantly.

·      You may perform Improvised attack within 3 seconds of swapping if the Butcher's original body was near an interactable with other survivors.

 

Rationale for power:

The Butcher acts as a pseudo-stealth killer, who is able to instantly down and instill paranoid in survivors who must split up and perform objectives alone if they wish to survive, as they don’t know who to trust. A survivor unfortunate enough to be body-swapped will be severely hindered and unable to perform objectives effectively, and they are also a threat to nearby allies. When swapped, the butcher is most threatening to injured survivors, as he is now able to sprint and put up a chase to down them, however he will then teleport away from his downed victim.

 The Butcher is at his most dangerous against non-SWF who don’t know when he's in swapped bodies and thus able to insta-down. Against SWF you have to be more careful with your swapping , as you may not be able to down survivors, but you can keep them split up and vulnerable

 

Addons: 

WIP

·      Increase attack range of La Dola

·      Swapped survivors suffer from the Oblivious status effect

·      Swapped survivors have even further reduced action speeds

·      Improvised attack has an increased activation radius

·      Improvised attack will injure other survivors involved in the interaction (downs nearest)

·      When swapping back, nearby survivors will be exposed for 10 seconds.

·      Gain a second knife attack whilst swapped

 

Perks:

Uncatchable

You've gotten away with your killings for decades, why would they catch you now?

·      After hooking a survivor, your aura cannot be read by survivors for 40/50/60 seconds. A fake aura will appear randomly on the map showing you walking.

 

Makeshift murderer

Your impulse means you must kill on the fly, using whatever is at hand to dispatch your victims

·      Hitting a survivor repairing a generator causes it to burst and regress. After breaking a generator, gain a token, up to 5. Every time you hit a survivor, consume a token and give the survivor the hindered status effect for 40/50/60 seconds.

 

Filthy hideout

You live, unclean, in a slum and the filth of your own body, and the remains of others.

·      Survivors have a 5/10/15 % penalty to healing in the basement. Survivors that exit your basement whilst injured will suffer from the broken status effect for 40/50/60 seconds.

 

Mori:

The Butcher stabs the survivor in the stomach and slams them to the ground. He then Forces the knife downwards, disembowelling the survivor down to their groin.

 

Cosmetics:

Not much for this character, hopefully there will be a sequel to expand

New Survivor - Millie Kessler


Lore:

·      The high school Beaver's mascot, the unpopular Millie Kessler has gone through her share of personal tragedies, and so she wasn't going to let the Blissfield Butcher take her body and friends too. Teaming up with the few friends she has, and her crush, Millie was able to figure out how to defeat the Butcher, using an ancient dagger, and regain her body, as well as a new sense of confidence and bond with her allies. However, as she was freed from the killers body, she was pulled into a new realm, one of fog. Back in her own body, Millie will ensure that she can protect her allies and improve their confidence, so no one else can have their body stolen too.

Perks:

School mascot

Your 'extracurricular' for school proved to be a good way to instill morale in teammates

·      When a survivor near you is hit, give them an extra sprint burst for 1/2/3 seconds and reveal your aura to the killer for 6/5/4 seconds.

 

Learned confidence

Your personal traumas have moulded you into dealing with stress

·      Gain a token every-time you escape the killer, up to 3 tokens. When you miss a skill check or scream, instead spend a token to stay calm and continue with the generator / not scream.

 

A Piece

Your struggles with unpopularity have made you gain a newfound strength.

·      When fast vaulting with a killer behind you, press the active ability button to perform A Piece, kicking the killer in the groin as you vault and stunning them. Causes exhaustion status effect for 70/60/50 seconds.

New Map - Abandoned Mill Homecoming

·      A semi indoor / outdoor map with large open rooms and corridors as it is an abandoned Mill, outfitted with streamers, confetti, tables and a DJ stand for homecoming. As well as The Butcher's victims.
