Interact Time For Keys - Suggestion

I would like to suggest that keys have an interaction time with the hatch to get them open.

I say this as many times now I have been chasing a survivor, literally be swinging at them, if not having hit them and yet they are given an escape due to the near instant animation that is opening AND jumping through hatch.

I don't believe that the argument "well if you just look where they're running and wait to grab them" is applicable. I say this as it is not always obvious that the hatch is directly in front of you. Also if you do indeed wait for a grab a smart survivor will just stall you out with no real counter play, especially considering how they can open it while down too.

The same argument can be made on pre-meditation. i.e. knowing where the hatch is in advance, as the killer will not always be in a position to look for the hatch, nor will they always blindly stumble upon it before it is too late.

I think there should be a short maybe 2 to 3 second animation where survivors actually open the hatch with the key. This will stop survivors from stalling out on hatch or from giving them a free escape after having lost the chase. It would make hatches a more strategic escape option than a free escape in many cases, and will also add more tension for general thematic purposes.

I agree somewhat, instantly opening the hatch when 3 survivors can t-bag you and escape in front of you is not a good idea.

Opening a hatch with a key should require an animation that lasts 12 seconds.

This animation would be similar to the one we have when we are sabotaging a hook. The reason why it needs to be 12 seconds is, to allow the killer a reasonable amount of time to get to the hatch before it's opened, if the killer is away from the hatch ofcourse. Additionally, when a survivor is opening a hatch, a universal sound cue should play, and it should be similar to that of Deathslinger's chain breaking sound, that raises in tone the closer it is to being broken, in this case, the tone of the cue would raise in pitch the closer the hatch is to being opened.

PLUS, the aura of the hatch should be revealed to the killer, or a "loud sound notification" should show up the moment a survivor begins to open the hatch.
