How to tunnel and camp more strategically

Note: I am simply telling you when you should and should not camp or tunnel if it comes down to it. I do believe that these strategies can be very unfun for the survivors which is why I would advise you to use this in moderation.

When should you camp?

You should camp a survivor when you see at least 2 survivors swarming the hooked person or if you are in the endgame and need to secure at least one or more kills. Of course, this can be boring for both sides. However, what are you supposed to do, leave the hook and let them get a quick and easy save? It is different for each killer as they can use their abilities to better camp a survivor. For example, the Huntress can stand a little over 20 meters away and snipe the hooked survivor right off hook if she times it right.

Btw, try to avoid throwing the game by camping a person who was tbagging you or clicking their flashlight.

When should you tunnel?

This one is more simple. If you see somebody who was recently unhooked in a bad spot such as a dead zone, go ahead and down them again. You either want to slug or hook them. I recommend slugging them since DS exists. You should also tunnel if you know somebody is on death hook and you need somebody out of the game immediately.

Again, try not to throw the game by going after the same person you know you cannot catch easily."

"Tunneling and camping is not a strategy"

Dictionary: Strategy

"a plan of action or policy designed to achieve a major or overall aim."

Lots of ppl play dbd w their emotions. That's why survivors hate it.

PVP games should be emotionless to be more effective.

Sometimes tunnel and camping is not used strategically, it is used due to emotions.

Same as flashlight clicking and teabagging the killer.

Thank you. I kinda wish the tutorial was more in depth and mentioned stuff like this, but it's not even in the game tips on the loading screen.

Do this with hag and there is 99% chance of no escape for the survivors.

I typically don't advise these things in regular play, but for those who are more competitively minded:

It's always better to have someone on death hook at 3 gens than it is to have 3 survivors on first hook. Good survivors will spread hook states efficiently, and they can end the game insanely fast. It only takes 80 seconds for three survivors to do 3 gens. Remember that.

Don't let survivors greed hook states. If they wait too long to save, you can return to the hook and force struggle or death without losing much pressure. You're punishing their lack of urgency in a sense. And if you just forced struggle with PH, well...

Speaking of PH, he's insanely "efficient" if you choose to play him that way. Bare minimum, you can get a 2k against anyone of your skill level due to the nature of his cage mechanics. Again, not saying you SHOULD play that way, but you can.
