Why are killers still locked?
To my knowledge, correct me if I'm wrong, we locked killers due to MMR. you can't have high mmr nurse but que up as billy to get lower mmr survivors. I got it then, it made sense. Why's it still like that? Mmr is turned off right? If I see a group of blendies, maybe I want to play doctor instead of Ghostface. If I see someone with the name, "Simp for Myers" I wanna play Myers with h, but I qued as bubba. See where I'm going with this

because MMR is going to come back, so they dont see any reason to change it just to change it again later down the line.

The reason is because MMR IS still working, it just isn't the thing deciding matchmaking at the moment.

I guess that makes sense

its collecting data on each killer you play and how you perform I am not exactly 100% how it works but its something along those lines

I agree
By locking killers allows better tracking on their end (which means there is a possibility that MMR will be better in the long run)

They need to lock survivors as well! Getting tired of the last minute switch say they can bring a key, and than get mad and DC because they're being tunneled!

People always use the argument that survivors are just skins it doesn't matter, but they don't take into account levels and items on each survivor, it's dumb

I don't like them locking killers either but it doesn't seem like they have plans to revert the change.

While on the one hand MMR would be nice so people can learn new killers, at the same time it sucks to not be able to prepare for a match the way we used to be able to. Four flashlights in the lobby? Well, I'm gonna switch to someone other than Hag, then. Four medkits? Time to break out Plague. Now if you see a bunch of items that counter your killer, or items that your killer is missing the perk to counter (like Franklin's or Lightborn), your option is... dodge the lobby and re-queue up at the back of the line. Meanwhile, survivors can still last-second switch to three flashlights and a key or some crap.
The choices are [theoretically] better MMR but not being able to prepare well as killer, or one-size-fits-all-killers MMR and being able to prepare. Both options have their pros and cons. But right now MMR isn't even on, so killers get the worst of both worlds.
