If Bloodlust is a "crutch," then how can the red stain be justified?
It just lets survivors magically see you around corners without having to mind game or predict like killers have to.

Good Killers know how to hide the red stain so, like, 🤷♀️

Killers shouldn't have too moonwalk to counter an unjustified mechanic. Also, good survivors can counter Bloodlust with pallets.
27 -
While yes, that is true. It also takes away line of sight, which deprives you of information.
Hiding the stain is an attempted read on the survivor. I've had my fair share pallets slapped on my head while trying to hide my stain.

Good killers will use the red stain for mindgaming survivors. Use of mindgames to shorten chases separates the decent from the excellent.
6 -
Yea I know.
I agree with you mostly.
Hell, the Bloodstain hiding is countered by predicting and turning the camera.
1 -
Yea. I know.
I was making a statement considering that Bloodlust is easily counterable as well, they both just take some practice to learn how to deal with them..

Not needing to mindgame at all would take away quite a bunch of fun of the Killer gameplay.

Everything is a "crutch". It's a meaningless adjective.
Perks are a crutch. Killer powers are a crutch.
9 -
Lmao just use the best perk in the game, Beast Of Prey.
4 -
Bloodlust is countered just as easily as red stain...
Pallets, breaking LOS to lose chase completely resets it. Why we even talking about this?
And whomever told you Bloodlust is a crutch is a stud-muffin.

Lets just take away all abilities and perks and features of the game. Ditch the fancy maps with all their details and put everyone on an empty, flat plane, no fog, no plants of any kind, nothing but the bright shining sun above, with all generators and players clearly visible and just make it a chase game with nothing interesting.
This "skill x is a crutch because y" comparison can be done with literally anything in the game. Everything can be a "crutch" in some form so, it's really not worth complaining about.

I’ve wanted the red stain removed for a very long time.

I've been saying for years that the red stain is an outdated mechanic. Sure you can hide it, but why should you have to? It makes the survivor have to work harder for the mindgame despite the survivor already having a third person camera.

Red Stain also exemplifies the difference between stealth based killers and non-stealth based killers. If you are Oni or Demogorgon, subtlety is very much not your strong suit compared to Ghostface. It also furthers the value of Undetectable, the Red Stain is supposed to make you...detectable.
If you do not like Red Stain, play a stealth killer (btw buff stealth killers)

Bloodlust is not a crutch, Bloodlust is a band-aid mechanic that was added to give the devs more time to understand and fix looping.

Especially this weekend

If Bloodlust is a crutch, then how can 2 door / hatch strat be justified.

If you don’t want people knowing where your facing just turn around man the Cope is so ######### hard on this BL fiasco damn.

Red stain manipulation is a staple of killer play.
The red stain work for or against the killers/survivors.
Bloodlust is one-sided.
1 -
yeah the bloodlust removal lets it shine

Uhhh, this isn't a suggestion or feedback. This is a discussion about the mechanical relevancy of two game mechanics. "If this why not that" logical argument is not suggestive or giving feedback on a topic. It is questioning equivalency.

Disabling the red stain would be a huge nerf to killer. It is literally how mindgames happen, without it there's no way to provide false information for the survivor to follow.
1 -
This is why I've taken a liking to Beast of Prey. It's an incredibly underrated chase perk.
It's a permanent choice on my Ghost Face since I'm essentially in Night Shroud allowing me to crouch around loops without the survs seeing my red stain.

Its okay. But only for new players who struggle with a chase. Hiding and showing red stain are good tools for mindgames. When you have no red stain, the survivor will make a random choice. And then the killer needs to be lucky. Its surely effective against bad survivor, bc they fall for moonwalking every time, too. But against good survivor you want sometimes to double fake and without red stain you cant do that.
The only problem i have with red stain is that sometimes a survivor can see it through a wall.

The red stain is part of the game since the game's inception, it's what makes chases engaging for both sides. It's not a "crutch", it's a core mechanic just like scratchmarks.
1 -
The game would be a lot more exciting with the red stain gone!
Most survivors are running Spine Chill anyway.
Time for bye bye red stain too?

Thats your opinion. Red stain is useful for the killer too. When you want something to compare with bloodlust, talk about the loud chase music. I know its intended but its annoying.

The red stain is a significant part of the mind games for both sides.
