If you have to cheat to win you shouldn't be playing this game.
I was just playing a game on PS5 with crossplay on and I ran into a teleporting Myers. I still survived the game luckily bur he clearly appeared out of nowhere. No heartbeat no music nothing and I should have been able to see him coming. Here's the kicker, he was in Tire 3 at the time so I should have heard him before he got there.
All I want to say is, if you have to cheat to be any good at this game let alone win, don't play it.
I've reported them and have video of it too. it will be going to the right people.

Sometimes I think this is happening, a players cheating, then I realize the killer had Tinkerer or the survivors had Hope. And it was not cheating at all.

I couldn't agree more, and not just on dbd but in any game.. if you need to cheat to win or be any good then maybe stop playing and try a game that you know how to play legitimately

I've seen a lot of shady stuff playing dbd but I've only ever met maybe 2 people who were certainly hacking. Most of the time it's usually a perk, add on, or something you weren't aware of.

I don't think they should be playing any game. It's not even that fun for the griefing value.
But like the above said most of the time when I suspect cheating shenanigans they do just use a perk or voice comms. Still, of the ones I would say definitely are cheaters only one did the overt Legion flying while spamming instadown hatchets from the sky. Most use more subtle things. Like when I played scratched mirror Myers and one of the survivors always looked directly at me, pointed straight at me and made sure I saw the teabagging with my aura sense stalk(No OoO, which wouldnt work anyway because tier 1 Myers is undetectable). Since the EAC doesn't detect the cheats they depend on not being reported to keep doing it.

People wouldn't have to cheat to win if matchmaking wasn't broken.
If matchmaking worked they'd be paired with people of similar skill levels.

It could have been tinkerer but I still should have been able to see him coming. If it's not cheating then it's not, I rather report and be wrong then not do it and just let it happen.

Welcome to the life of a gamer. There will always be cheaters in every game you play. Some people just find fun in that. Whether or not you do. Of course it sucks went on the receiving end though.

There has been an influx of cheaters lately, they seem to be getting through more and more.
DBD mostly leaves anti cheat to EAC but they may need to have a talk with them cause' they are slipping big time lately.

If matchmaking was fixed bad players would face other bad players and could win because everyone else is also bad.
Currently bad players often face good players, meaning they won't win unless they cheat.

Still I doubt cheating is particularly related to matchmaking at all, games with decent matchmaking suffer from it as well.

People would be cheating regardless of the matchmaking working or not. I can guarantee though, it makes the matchmaking worse and ruins the other players experience.

ESP hacks/cheats are still quite common in this game. Especially those russian nolifers that only play huntress and hit hatchets all around the map and through walls. Mostly because there are terribad and bad losers and ofc have the smallest wiener in the universe. Just disgusting.

#2 most people don't cheat because they want to win, but to have fun screwing others. Basically the same mindset (imo) like tbaggin/hook beating/etc players
Btw teleporting can also be a server issue. Had a wraith being stuck in the swing animation for 5 seconds, then I got downed somewhere where I was not before and the Wraith was also somewhere else, starting to look around where I got downed because apparently I didn't go down where he expected me. He didn't find me. This is rare but can happen and is often crap for both sides

Yeah, cheaters suck. I had this hillbilly recently that downed someone and then zoomed across the map and instantly found me in a locker--the locker I had gone into before BBQ & Chili could have been activated. There was no pause or thinking on where I could be, he just immediately zoomed to me and pulled me out of a locker. He had been doing things like that all game, but we assumed it was our faults, but he got pissed when I called him sus, so it really makes you wonder.

Using bad matchmaking as the primary means to justify why people cheat is singularly ( and subjectively) placing the blame on the Devs while absolving any actual or potential misdeeds of the cheaters themselves.
So while you yourself are strawmanning the original argument of this thread, you're also projecting that behavior onto others who are only offering opinions? Sweets, that's narcissism. Strawmanning is a counter argument or derailing comment made with the objective to lead people away from the central conversation, so as to discredit or steer attention away from the topic of discussion.
