Riko lived in a village near the Saida Shrine area, along with a man named Jun Himeya, who she eventually met and fell in love with.

While he was gone, an unspecified disaster occurred. Riko's whole family was killed, leaving her the only survivor and desperately seeking shelter. Eventually she was taken in by the Saida Shrine, adopting the Saida surname and becoming next in line to be the Tattooed Princess in the next ritual.

As the tradition dictates, she spent her days at the prison, visited only by her handmaiden Akiza and talking to her about the outside world. But before the ritual, she showed Akiza the earring Jun gave her before leaving, not knowing that Akiza is his younger sister.

After bearing the Tattoos, she taken to the chamber by the Handmaidens as they sang the lullaby to make her sleep, as the ritual intended.

However, as she slept, she dreamed of Jun and her lost hopes of seeing him again. The connection eventually made its way to Jun himself, who started to dream of the Saida Shrine, eventually deciding to see Riko again, smuggled into the shrine by Akiza.

At the chamber, he finally found Riko, lying in her slumber, as they shared a brief moment together. But Hinami Saida, the family master, murdered Jun before her eyes, with the shock of losing her love, Riko finally snapped. She stands up and strangles Hinami to death.

Realm: Saida Shrine

The Saida Shrine was a huge shrine that helped ease the pain of survivors - people who had lost family or someone they loved through a tragedy. Numerous mourners would come to pray for their loved ones, and ask for the Princess to ease their pain. Apparently, patrons would also bring blood of their departed and offer their own blood as well.

The Saida Shrine has three floors. The first floor is a Grand Hall, with two Doll Altars at East and West (1 or 2 Generators will spawn in random location), a basement at North, and a stair to the second floor at West. The second floor have a Prison at East, Tattoo Altar at West, two Futon Rooms at North and South (2 or 3 Generators will spawn in random location) and a stair to 3rd floor at South. Third Floor is the Chamber, with 1 Generator in the middle.

The exit gates are at both the front entrance and backyard of the shrine.
