Is a survivor being caged in dying state intentional or a bug?

Had a match where a Kate wasn't unhooked until she reached the second stage. She was tormented and the prompt for sending her to the cage was there, but when I caged her she instantly died after being teleported.

Unless I read it wrongly, the kill animation should have triggered instead of caging. I think it's a bug.

Yup definitely a bug. If they’re on death hook and tormented, then it’s supposed to allow you to perform the ‘Final Judgement’ (mini mori).
