Am I the only one that hates new Autohaven?
It's just... terribly awful, it hurts my eyes

Agreed also the "new" totems are horrible. I legit passed a dull totem THREE times before I actually saw it - there goes my Inner Strenght...

Nice 😍 at last they dont stand out anymore

Dunno about that, I'm not talking about how 'balanced' they are, I'm just talking of how they look
2 -
So many spots are not safe at all...It's most impossible to escape with the "camp basement" system now. I had fun 3 games in a row in a basement, but well.. OK.

The only Autohaven map I have a problem with is Blood Lodge. They completely changed the entire map rather than updating certain loops and the graphics. The new main building is awful, there are barely any safe loops, and the jungle gyms feel odd.
8 -
Yes, is horrible
1 -
Its so badly lit. I can't see half the time in the loop tiles. The update might look nice but let me see it come on
5 -
Every map rework is completely awful.

Yes, you are the only person in the entire world. Sorry.

The new maps feel so empty. There's nothing to play around.
6 -
I apologise for my use of colloquialism when expressing my opinion

ok funny just made a thread about it myself
but yeah, its bad

Couldn't explain it better. It just feels empty, flat and downgraded. Yes there are more "details" if you look close enough to new textures, but the maps as a whole feel ugly and the lighting is just awful

It's bad.
The off green is supposed to be atmospheric but just looks drab by the time you've finished one game.
The new totems don't look good either.
I've liked all the updated maps so far, but this one has more detail but looks worse?

It can be way too dark as well, it may benefit survivors but when you're the killer it's kinda tricky figuring out where survivors are or what's moving and what isn't, although that might be any map that plays mind tricks on you when hunting for survivors. If there was a setting to turn up some of the brightness that would help a lot.
1 -
no, you're not the only one, at all.
2 -
Guess what, IT'S A HORROR GAME.
0 -
The areas shift from extremely dark to extremely bright, the lighting just makes no sense
0 -
I like it very much!
1 -
I hate it too. They removed mind games from every tile. It's just a #########? moment. Those moments have become much more common.
0 -
No, it's not. That's just how the devs make it out to be;)
0 -
It's an asymmetric survival horror, its officially stated as one. Therefore it is.
1 -
It looks like DBD and Minecraft had a baby which somehow ended up an even bigger abomination than Victor. I know a lot of effort went into redoing the map but it honestly looks worse than before.
0 -
As I said, thats how the devs make it out to be. Gameplay wise, this game isn't even close to horror.
0 -
Yeah definitely hate the new autohaven look, it's so freaking dark you can't see anything (time to break out them p3 Claudettes Bois) don't even get me started on how new Ormond looks
0 -
It's awful. I can't even tell where windows are on tiles untill I'm literally on top of them
0 -
The map feels sparse with 'random objects' thrown around in the middle of it. Didn't think it was possible but the update has made the atmosphere of these places WORSE.

The killer being able to lock people in the basement on the new autohaven has ruined the new map for me personally. Looks alright though, im a fan of the upgraded visuals but that's a broken mechanic right there.
0 -
It feels incredibly flat with no gameplay depth or smoothness at all.
Old Autohaven was smooth, you could tell where tiles were and move between them easily.
Now it's just a bunch of random stuff scattered everywhere with trash breakable wall placements.
2 -
I dont think anything can be horror gameplaywise....unless like the controlles are terrible and instructions are unclear and it runs like crap.
0 -
And guess what, people still sweat on this "horror game" who here actually finds it scary after playing for the longest?
0 -
I like the changes because it actually feels like a junkyard but I dislike how dark the lighting is. I wish it was a just a bit brighter.
Just like the MacMillan maps, it’s gonna take some getting used to because I’ve been turned around on Autohaven and had no idea where I was and what part of the map I was at. I’ve confused the office on Azarov’s for shack multiple times.
1 -
Why do you write horror game in quotes? If you don't think the game is scary anymore, it doesn't remove the fact that the game is a horror game. It also sounds like you think it's weird that you can sweat in a horror game lol.
1 -
The lighting is just so damn bad.
2 -
Ok then I will rephrase my statement, it can be considered a *horror* game for the genre. However the people who've been playing for the longest for now wouldn't call it "horror" if they're used to the dark content the game has to offer, therefore they aren't really scared of every killer, just scared to lose a rank. Also I don't find it weird that people would sweat in a game like this, it's a PVP game what do you expect? It's bound to happen at any given time. lol

and ormond, as i told you, it looks like gta v when you are in the north yankon mission, no terror and darkness on the map, just a lot of brightness
0 -
As a survivor, it's rough to play on. hopefully they add some pallets or retile a couple parts. Until then, stay stealthy everyone.
As a Killer, it's free real estate. Benny Hill me now, you little bastards.
I would like to point out, though, each ma is supposed to be its associated killer's preferred hunting ground, and Wraith...well, you can see him coming for miles on New Autohaven.

Too bad you weren't playing this game against me -- you wouldn't have had an issue finding this totem completely exposed on top of a hill. This might legitimally push the one notorious Asylum totem spawn that's in the wide open as the worst I've ever seen on a map. To see this on a reworked map -- what could the devs possibly be thinking?
(After admiring how awful this was for the first 30 seconds of the match or so, I also saw all 5 gens pop in under 5 minutes WITH Ruin and Undying -- though whichever perk this totem was clearly wasn't going to help with that, but that's another story altogether, lol).
ETA: The time stamp of the recording -- I was taping this for YouTube -- is misleading, as I have an intro for the video that's included in that time. I spawned right next to the totem on top of the hill, so I knew immediately this was a goner and wanted to take a screenshot before it went bye-bye, lol.

Too bad you weren't playing against me in this match -- this exposed totem on a hill might be the worst I've ever seen, ranking alongside the notorious Asylum spawn that's in the wide open. The fact it's on a "reworked" map is completely inexusable, and it makes me wonder what in the world the developers are thinking, if anything, with this spawn?
The timestamp is misleading -- I was recording for YouTube and have an intro to the match. I literally spawned on the totem and wanted to take a screenshot before it went bye-bye, lol. I also saw all 5 gens pop in under 5 minutes even WITH Ruin/Undying (not that this poor totem stood a chance of staying up), but that's a different story altogether. 🤣

I'd call outlast horror.
0 -
Wretched Shop is the worst.
1 -
Well Outlast is horror, in theme and atmosphere, but gameplay is specifcally what you as a gamer have to do, and pressing a button on my keyboard so that my character hides under a bed is not really horror.
I might be scarred because of what is going on on the screen and im immersed but ultimately im just sitting on my chair pressing buttons on my mouse and keyboard and the game responds in kind, that is why I say the gameplay cannot really be horror

I'm just relieved its not just easy loop by easy loop..hated autohaven for that
