Is BHVR still a small indie company?
I'm just curious. The quality of their work this patch is definitely "just getting started it's our first project but we're doing a pretty good job so far" indie tier but DBD has really taken off with all the licensed killers and I assumed they were a larger company by now, large enough to make trainwrecks like this rather inexcusable. Does anyone know how many people they have working on the game now?

Its just one guy on a 2011 macbook give him a break

600+ people including marketing?
thought this was a joke post at first because it is nowhere near indie considering its people and revenue.

They have 600+ people working there now.
So, no, I don't think so.

Their bank account would say otherwise.

Bhvr employs over 600 people. More then some AAA companies

600 people!? I was not expecting anywhere near that number. That is absolutely ridiculous. Wow.... Thank you for the responses. I wonder who is in charge of managing that mess??

I mean, I have no idea how many of them actually work on the game, but yes - BHVR as a company has over 600 employees. A very small margin is probably the actual dev team for DbD, but a company this big should be able to put out better content.
For comparison, Santa Monica Studios - the team that made the most recent God Of War only has 300. And that is a AAA game.

I've played GoW 4, now THAT is a game that was clearly a labour of love. DBD though? lol...

Could be a bit of an apples to oranges comparison there though. I don't know how long GoW was in development for vs DBD, plus it's a single player game vs multiplayer, etc...they're just different games. I don't know what constitutes being called a AAA game, but look at Fall Guys. Simple as fu** and made by 4 or 5 people? No it's certainly not AAA visuals or game mechanics but their bottom line certainly is AAA lol.
I imagine the large majority of BHVR employees are tasked with working on unannounced games though and only a small team is actually maintaining DBD.

Fair enough. My main point is a company this large should be able to put out better content than this.

Agreed 100%. Thanks for the facts.

I don't want this game to fail. I've been playing this game for two years and watching this happen sucks big time. I want this game to succeed, but until someone starts giving a #########, the only direction I see it going is down.

its clear they need two guys on 2011 macbooks

BHVR has not been an indie company for an extremely long time.

If they are still an indie company then they're at least making good progress on becoming as shamelessly horrible to their community as take-two interactive.

Didn't bhvr had a game like in the early 2000s? I don't think that is considered a small indie company
