Once again I watched the dev stream (once again with permission) so once again you don't have to!

He bases his statements on the data instead of how he feels things should/would be, like any scientist worth their salt. If the data doesn't support the assertion, then that's that. With that said, Mathieu did follow up by saying that just because something looks fine from a statistical standpoint (which is just an objective fact), it doesn't mean it won't be changed if it's not fun to play with/against.

Why rework Laurie's face?Her P3 looks great..
0 -
Her hair though... It looks like literal spaghetti

Stream, update, missed content, DLC, their decisions on balance. I can't believe that Clown, Demo and Wraith are getting updates while Legion barely can do anything in the matches. Even the twins are better than Legion, because Victor can win at least loops and help Charlotte by blocking the path by him and vice versa.

AND even 300k bloodpoints are not gonna compensate the frustration that I get with this update. Not even milion auric cells or shards.

Wow! Ty for the summary! I am so glad someone asked about the HUD for next gen consoles. It's been a time trying to adjust to it. I have a few friends that are playing the last gen copy on their consoles cause the hud is normal on there.
1 -
I'm still in the camp of "give clown a molotov cocktail" :P
1 -
Still no need to hate a person and insult them, those decisions were not made by one person alone.
and not saying that Legion doesn’t need some kind of buffs but Clown, Wraith and Demo all deserve some tweaks too, and the community definitely have asked for those.
3 -
There's more than one person on the balance team but seeing how everyone treats Almo here, who isn't the one singular person in charge of every decision to do with balance, I'm not surprised that only one person interacts with the forums and he does so relatively rarely.
3 -
Maybe because the team doesn't listen to the community? They need to finally do something about Legion, he's unfun and boring to play as and against. But no, instead they make the worst decisions and thanks to them we have updates like this one 😊👌
Amazing.

Legion was already addressed a while ago when those same complaints popped up. At the time, some people liked the changes, others disliked it.
3 -
It's not a challenge if the power is useless and doesn't require skill.

Thanks for this c:
1 -
Many people currently enjoy playing Legion. We don’t want to be abandoned like old Freddy mains were.
3 -
That's beside the point. You claimed the devs hadn't addressed Legion. The truth is that they have, you just don't like the changes.
2 -
There was no changes for Legion lately. What are you talking about?
0 -
And many people are not enjoying them. You see the point?

You know, I looked at the question regarding LGBTQ representation, and my thought was: how many of the characters do we even actually know, for a fact, what their sexuality is? I don't think most of them have any mention whatsoever.
I'd have to go back and read every single backstory, but the only ones I can remember offhand is some supposed romance between Wraith and Nurse. Now, not including licensed characters, that's it to my recollection.
Does anyone recall differently? I'm really not motivated to go read every backstory right now, but if that's the case, that would mean almost any non-licensed character could have any sexuality, and its all up to individual imagination.
I almost started to say that leaves out only trans, but then I remembered the old lady skin for the Cannibal, heh....
Sigh... and now I'm thinking of going to read those backstories anyway.... ugh.....

- Nurse had a husband (not Wraith)
- Felix has a girlfriend, with whom he was gonna have a kid
- David had an ex-girlfriend.
4 -
And as I said MOST didn't have it. You just named four characters out of over 40. 4 out of over 40 is not exactly a telling number.
Additionally, that doesnt tell whether they were straight or bi. It just means they were in a relationship that was straight.
0 -
That is 4 characters out of over 40. That isn't exactly a telling number.
0 -
Out of all the characters yes. Remove the liscened ones from that, then feel free to tell me exactly how many of them have been confirmed to have had/be in non-hetero relationships.
2 -
Thats my entire point, which you seem to be missing. Sexuality has not really been a part of most of these characters backgrounds, one way or the other. 4 out of over 40 that was confirmed either way is nowhere near a large number. It just isn't an important part of the story.
1 -
The thing is, people (at least, I do, and some others) want equal representation. Thusfar we've got confirmation that those individuals were not gay (bi/pan possible ofc) and as a gay man I just want something. Obviously it doesn't have to 4 of them being gay for the 4 confirmed straight people but I just want something, hence why representation is a large topic for me, and why I am kinda glad they're waiting to do it well.
4/40 isn't large, it's only a 10th of the crowd, but 0/40 is even smaller.
4 -
I'm talking about the changes to Legion that came a while ago when people were making the same complaints you're making now. Maybe it was before you joined the game, I dunno, but they happened.
1 -
Same old, same old
- ship ######### with bugs, say they're sorry but make excuses
- push out cosmetic DLC instead of balancing the game / the grind
- they're focusing on add-ons for balance.. and ignoring keys/mori/palletspawning (we're looking at them....)
- ignore the grind for the next 6-9 months????
- "we're looking at it"
- LGBT representation - this is just corporate pandering. They're not your friend, they're selling you a product
2 -
You mean the changes where they turned Legion into a M1 killers? Also I'm playing the game from december 2016 and I'm here on the forums from a 2 years. I'm sorry but Legion is extremely boring bunch of killers that server no purpose in their power in order to down people and have no skill cap. It's just a mend simulator which is boring for both sides.

ship [BAD WORD] with bugs, say they're sorry but make excuses
The higher-ups decide when stuff is released, not the devs themselves.
push out cosmetic DLC instead of balancing the game / the grind
Would you like the art department to work on bugs or game balance? I wouldn't. No offense to the art department, they make some nifty stuff, but I wouldn't want them working on bugs any more than I'd want a geologist to operate on me.
they're focusing on add-ons for balance.. and ignoring keys/mori/palletspawning (we're looking at them....)
They've already mentioned they're working on keys and moris. Pallets (and maps in general) are being reworked. The graphical update includes map reworks.
ignore the grind for the next 6-9 months????
The devs can't drop everything they're doing every single time there's a problem to be addressed. These things need structure.
"we're looking at it"
What else do you expect them to say? They can't give out specifics because some people go crazy every time the devs show WIP stuff that they change later on, calling them liars and whatnot.
LGBT representation - this is just corporate pandering. They're not your friend, they're selling you a product
Yes, that's how capitalism works, they want to make a product that appeals to consumers so they can make money. That's why they included Shape, to pander to Halloween fans, and Pyramid Head, to pander to Silent Hill fans. Oddly enough, pandering only seems to be an issue when it's about LGBT representation.

The last one is disgusting, but completely true. I hate the fact that companies use my sexual orientation as the trademark for their products. Absolutely disgusting.
0 -
I mean the changes they made. How you perceive them doesn't change the fact that they were made to begin with, and with the intention of addressing the issues you mentioned earlier. If you're aware of these changes, then it's even stranger that you would claim they had never changed Legion.
PS: You mean no skill floor. No skill cap would mean that someone playing Legion could become infinitely good. A cap refers to a limitation on the highest values that something can take.
2 -
They're not, though.
2 -
Yes. As yu can become a good M1 killer 😂
0 -
But you know that your sexual orientation is your part of life right?
1 -
Correct me if I'm wrong but @Orion is bi lol
2 -
And bisexuality isn't a part of LGBT+?
0 -
Yes, it is. Which is why I responded to that, because your comment makes no sense with that context
3 -
Some killers are designed to be easier to play. That's not a drawback, it's just a characteristic. Not every killer needs to be as complicated as performing brain surgery while blindfolded.
You are correct.
2 -
Exvellent my memory isn't that bad
1 -
I'm sorry, but if the majority of the community keeps questioning devs about any changes to the CURRENT Legion, then clearly there is something wrong with them and must be done about it.
0 -
The majority of the community isn't doing that, only a loud minority of forumgoers are. However, I'll just say again the devs have already addressed Legion, but you can't please everyone.
2 -
1 not an excuse, I'm looking at BHVR at a whole, and if the higher ups made that choice- they should be ashamed
2 I thought the higher ups decide when to release stuff? They also decide who to hire - it's the same on every game the shoves out DLC by the truckload yet lets the game crumble. "Guys the art team doesn't code!!11!" So hire less artists and hire more/better coders. But that doesn't generate quite as much short term profits does it?
3 they're always "working on it" lol
4 but they can give specifics on DLC
5 exactly - I'm just clarifying to people that think once they say "oh by the way, Claudette is a lesbian" that they're doing some personal favor for them for representation, to make them feel welcome.
1 -

It's not meant to be an excuse. The people apologizing aren't the ones actually responsible for the problems. It's just a statement of fact.

Hiring more coders won't help. Too many cooks and all that. I can't say anything about their skill level because I don't know it.
they're always "working on it" lol
Is that an issue? Would you rather the same thing that happened with this DLC also happen with everything else? Just rushed features and patches full of bugs?
but they can give specifics on DLC
They can give specifics on things that have already been decided, yes, if the higher-ups allow it.
exactly - I'm just clarifying to people that think once they say "oh by the way, Claudette is a lesbian" that they're doing some personal favor for them for representation, to make them feel welcome.
Yes, thank you. Every LGBT person already knows this because every single time LGBT representation is mentioned, someone makes the same comment you just did. We also know what capitalism is and are well aware of the concept of pandering. However, as I said before, I find it curious that "pandering" isn't mentioned when it comes to other characters. For example, why wasn't "German pandering" on the tip of everyone's tongues when Felix was released, if indeed pandering is so bad?
5 -
Probably because people weren't making constant posts about the lack of Germans
You're missing my point about pandering. It's not that giving people what they want is bad inherently. It's that once pandered to, people feel the need to defend companies because now they're "the good guys". They'll use this to deflect heat from bad choices - "hey guys I know that update was filled with bugs, but rest assured we're going to let you know who is LGBT in DBD".
1 -
Probably because people weren't making constant posts about the lack of Germans
The same applies to LGBT. In fact, until the devs' Twitter "announcement", there were no comments on the subject. Now people just want to make sure the devs keep their word.

That's not a thing that happens.
3 -
Really? There was NO ONE asking BHVR to add LGBT representation to their game before their tweet? No one??
And NO ONE defends devs that pander to them? NO ONE??
2 -
I was being hyperbolic. However, since you bring it up, I've seen people defend the devs because they brought several horror icons together, yet nobody is against having more licensed characters on the basis that people are defending the devs because they pandered to fans of those icons. What makes LGBT representation so different?
4 -
Thank you for typing and posting this! Thank you dead by daylight the for all the hard work you guys are putting from home

There was an error rendering this rich post.

@jotaro - Any balance changes for Freddy in the future?
"Yes, indeed."
All you Freddy haters rejoice, for there is an update for Freddy currently in the works. No specific details can be dropped yet but yes, he's being worked on. Him chilling at the top of the stats board has genuinely got their attention. Stay tuned.
Jesus Christ, they literally want to run every semi-viable killer into the ground

Which is exactly why Spirit has remained untouched for a year yes.
