Why buy Killer skins?
If there's one good thing I can say about BHVR, it's that their art department is on point!
That being said, with killers working in a first-person perspective, as well as so many moris also operating from the first person perspective, what point is there in purchasing Killer skins? I bring this up because the new Krampus skin looks amazing, but not only can you not see it in action, you can't even see it when you're performing an execution. Only the survivors get to see these skins in action, whereas the Killers can only see it in the menus. At the very least it would be nice if they gave you the option of viewing moris from a third person perspective. Skins aren't cheap, and the last thing I want to do is spend a lot of money on something that I don't get to look at.

Same reason people buy fancy rims. You can't enjoy them while driving, but you can see people's reactions
Joking aside, some older killers could do with more tweaks for third person. Maybe fix the rest over time for first or third options.
I buy killer skins coz I wanna feel pretty, though.
Speaking of killer skins, spirit has a deep blue skin with white fingernails but I can't remember which it is because it only seems to look that way in play, and I've only seen it in streams.

Because people like them
I personally believe they are a waste of money, but if you like them you do you.

Yeah to be honest I have yet to purchase a single killer skin because I find them to be ridiculously expensive. I did however purchase the Legion blight skin with shards, and I love that I could at least see the skin when I perform a mori. I think all killers should be updated with that feature.

Yeah the fact that a single skin costs about half of what the full game does is ridiculous, which is why I haven't purchased any. I would like to, but even if there was a great sale the incentive isn't there if I can't see it.

I bought The Twins' Eternal Sorrow skin. I thought the baby coffin on Charlotte's back with the roses was so cute. However, I do agree they're a little overpriced. For instance, I think their Blood and Guts skin is extremely overpriced for something that looks way too similar to the base skin.

It’s one of her yellow skins. The water one

This is why I usually only get the weapon part of the skin. At least you get to see it in action throughout the match.

To keep survivors entertained.

I have bought several survivor outfits, both with shards and auric cells and no killer at all, because as it was already said, you can't see them ingame when you play as a killer, so I won't spend any currency on killer skins.

That's not a bad idea!

Same. I've purchased survivor skins because I can actually see it. With Killers you can't so it's like, what's the point?

Ghostface mori tho.

I only ever use Iri shards on Killer skins for this exact reason.
There are some awesome ones out there. Steampunk Doctor springs to mind... :)

I don't play as Killer a lot, but when I do play as Killer - I like to feel pretty/cute as mentioned above x3
For some reason, people seem to think that skins are only for people who are good at the game or think they're good at the game. I got my sister to play this game and she's pretty good at it. Well, she started by playing Huntress and she liked one of skins in the shop, so I bought it for her. Since she was still new to the game, she wasn't that good and someone insulted her by saying "Why do you wear that skin if you suck at the game!?" She wore the skin because she wanted to. Because she liked it. People seem to cause issues over nothing sometimes xD

Yeah certain moris can be seen from the third person perspective, but for those that can't, I just don't see why anyone would bother. For example, the new old lady Bubba skin is cool, but you'll never see it. So why spend $15?

To intimidate the survivors. I only wear cosmetics on killers I am good at. If I'm doing a daily or haven't played them in ages I just leave the default outfit on.
When you go into a game and hear the Nurse screech, you wonder "Is this a pumpkinhead nurse?" and then you see they are P3 and start mashing control like you have urban evasion on.

Because we love cosmetics and I guess it helps maintain the game business too.
I mean DLC's and game are really cheap why not contribute in a game we like ?
Lastly is for being chased and tunneled LOL.

I think they at best can confuse people about which killer they’re dealing with for a few seconds. Not worth spending real cash money on afaic.

To show the survivors what type of killer I am. For instance if i see a nurse with the widows skin, they are usually a good one. Or if I go against a huntress in a full blight skin, they're usually newer to the game. Hence why I wear my nurse with the veil. To show that I know how to play her and you will most likely lose.
Oh and to kill them with a cool skin and astonish them with my cool skin, cover Charlotte's troglodyte of a face (even though I man her and find nothing wrong with her), or any other killer.
