Nurse doesn't deserve nerfs
Out of everything to complain about in this game, Nurse should not be one of those things. I honestly think she's the most balanced killer in the game right now, and one of the most fun to play against imo.
People keep using the excuse "just because she's hard to play it doesn't mean she should be excluded from nerfs" but if she's hard to play shouldn't her counterplay also be hard to pull off? That's literally what balancing is about, making it fair for both sides.
Nurse isn't impossible to play against, there's tons of counterplay to prove that. If there's anything about Nurse you want to complain about, it should be her fatigue because it just makes her insanely annoying to play as.
Edit: Let me just clarify that I'm not talking about bugs. Of course it's fine to complain about bugs because those actually need fixing, but I don't think she's broken balance-wise.
Nurse counterplay is essentially the same as any projectile killer, which revolves around breaking line of sight and baiting her power. What makes nurse different to all of those projectile killers is her power is almost always readily accessible, but her downside is she's slower than survivors, which means she's forced to use her power. If you're actively mind gaming and breaking line of sight it would basically be a 50/50, but there's other factors to Nurse's power to consider like fatigue, the window for chain blinks, and timing that tip things in your favor as long as you're not playing extremely predictably. So essentially she has a constant time limit to predict your movements in set amounts of time. If she has to constantly guess your movements quickly then there's gonna be a lot of room for mind games. Not to mention there's perks to help in these situations anyway. Finally, even if you get caught with your pants down you can always jump into a locker while she's trying to blink, she can't pull you out until after fatigue.

I wouldn't say that she is the "most balanced" Killer in the game, her add-ons were busted before her nerf tho, so she kinda deserved to get her add-ons nerfed, I don't like the base kit change, but I do get why it was done.

nerf 🐷

Agreed. Been trying to learn her, it's obvious why most don't stick it out. The amount of DC's ya get when they see what you are is hilarious though. Can barely blink correctly but it's common for a survivor to nope the heck out. ^_^

Nurse used to be a fun challenge (PS4 player here). Used to be. After they added that cool down to her basekit, I just haven't been able to stand trying to play as her. She's quite frustrating and not fun in the least with that cool down.
I wish I'd played Nurse more back before she got nerfed. I never got great with her, but I was having fun trying. I miss that.
4 -
Her counterplay doesn't exist if the Nurse knows what she's doing, and if she doesn't then I see no reason to use her as a barometer for what can and cannot be done agaisnt a Nurse.
5 -
Nurse is not balanced.
As much as I'm all for stealth being better rewarded and encouraged, "just never get found," isn't reasonable counterplay to a Killer. Neither is, "hope she gets bugged/messes up and doesn't down you in seconds."
I'm not saying Nurse deserves nerfs, but she is not balanced. I don't think a character capable of moving at 333% speed through walls, windows, pallets, and nearly any obstacle to attack Survivors could ever be balanced.
There is also plenty to complain about the Nurse besides fatigue, because she's bugged to heck. Last I checked there's still an entire hallway in Midwich where she just can't Blink, she can still randomly get a 1-2 second delay after Blinking where she can't attack, and she can still be suddenly unable to charge up her second Blink.

Nurse main here, 1.3k hours.
She is broken, but a nerf won't fix it. She needs a complete rework.
9 -
I don’t even think Nurse is that hard to learn.
obviously she has a very high skill ceiling that I didn’t reach and won’t reach because I like to play many different chars. But the skill floor isn’t as high as people say.
2 -
Nurse main, Rank 1.
She's fine where she is, Balance Wise.
She needs her bugs fixed as well.
3 -
Is she getting nerfed again ?
0 -
No I don't think so but a lot of people are pushing for one
0 -
Tbh I think the only change she needs is her additional blink add-on shouldn't have a drawback. 3 blinks can certainly be annoying, but it's nowhere near as bad as 5 blink Nurse was.
0 -
It should have a drawback but probably not as bad as it is right now.
1 -
The problem with the nurse is that her power is broken, so the only way to balance this killer is to give a pretty long cooldown, and a fatigue. Or you just decrease the range, but hell, if you decrease the range, it's terrible and nearly impossible to catch up to the survivors (Try playing with her nerf range yellow add-on at rank 1, possible, but very frustrating).
I'm a nurse main, so I won't say she deserves a nerf, because if you nerf her AGAIN, she would definitely be a terrible and unfun killer. She's hard as f*ck to learn for a good reason, and even if the nurse you meet is a god nurse main, there are possible mind games, like 50/50. If you main Nurse, it's always fun to go against her as a survivor, trust me.
And if you really want to nerf it, this a rework, not a nerf. But having a killer who can blink is just sooo fun, I don't want her to be changed.
3 -
Exactly that's what I'm saying, she's fine the way she is.

The midwich corridor dead zone has been fixed, and it made that map (for me) from an instant dc to one of my favorites. Nurse is so op in there, it's become one of her strongest maps.
Only thing is that whispers is basically useless in there, and I'm one of those nurses lol
2 -
It's good to hear that bug's fixed. Gives me hope for her others.

Maybe out in the open. If you have anything that can break LOS it's not a guaranteed hit, there's literally a layer of RNG you've created as survivor.
Just because it's hard or inconvenient doesn't mean it doesn't exist, but Nurse haters can't seem to wrap their minds around that concept.
1 -
The base kit changes were completley unnecessary and part of the reason I don't play nurse anymore.
3 -
She still needs more nerfs, and gut spirit while you are at it.
The argument is "But nurse is so hard to play" when you can probably get the blinking down within like 10-20 games honestly. After that it's just figuring out which bugged objects you have to play around.
I used to play her a ton and still jumped for joy when the first round of nerfs came. It was boring playing against nurse 80% of the games at red ranks.

And the changes don't make it feel anymore 'skillful' to use it it feels more like an annoyance I constantly have to remember instead of a mechanic I work with.
2 -
Bug fixes and another addon pass is all she needs atm.
0 -
That's why it was a nerf. Pre-nerf there was basically no penalty for missing blinks. You could miss like 2/3 attacks and it didn't matter at all because they never got any distance on you unless they were in a particularly strong building. And the lunge was still long so you just landed in their general area and got a hit. And let's not mention the busted add-ons like 5 blink or omegablink.
Being punishing to play should be the penalty for ignoring all the game's mechanics on a high mobility killer.
0 -
I'll agree 5 blinks and omega were too strong, but her base kit was fine. I had plenty of survivors making a fool out of me pre-nerf. It was never Nurse that was the problem, it's mostly to do with survivors refusing to change their playstyle to accommodate anything but ring-around-the-pallet.
8 -
This might be a crazy idea but do you think that the bugs actually make her more balance?
1 -
I agree, Her add ons needed to go but her base kit was fine the way it was. Now her add ons are all crap. I want them to at least fix all her bugs that have been around since her rework. When I play Nurse it feels like I am fighting the games mechanics more than the survivors.
2 -
I don't agree with that. To me looping is the most fun part of the game, as both survivor and killer. It's pretty much the only game there is in DBD, honestly. Otherwise it's hiding and holding M1 as survivor, or holding W mowing down helpless survivors as the killer.
Against a good nurse, it's really less to do with your skill as survivor and more how good the nurse is. It's the same problem I have with Spirit and Deathslinger.
The counterplay is holding W, breaking LOS, double backing if she charges a blink too long, and hoping she misses. That's really it. And good nurses hardly miss. Though fortunately I only see a good nurse maybe once a month if that.

Her add-ons were busted that about it. If you want a balance killer, it was actually Billy.
0 -
She's a poorly designed killer in my opinion and there is no way to balance her since there is no real counterplay survivors can do!
0 -
Yeah, she doesn't need nerfs, she deserves a full on rework.

This is not true at all. Have you played nurse in lerys? she takes insane level skill in indoor maps like that. Literally every blink there is LOS break, so unless you can read survivor mind 24/7 nothing is guaranteed hit.
0 -
That's where I fundamentally disagree with you. The game should have more elements than pallet looping. I'm ok with a lot of killers having to deal with it, but there should be killers like Nurse that make you use a different part of the game. If all you do is play the same style no matter the killer what's the point? That's boring and not diverse at all despite different killers.

Blink to the place LoS was broken, second blink lands absolutely guaranteed unless you are completely boosted or you get bugged. It's what I do when I play Nurse.

It's not nearly as hard as people make it out to be here. It's in the realm of what I like to think of the 10/90 effort/mastery theory - it takes 10% effort to achieve 90% mastery, and 90% effort to achieve the remaining 10% mastery - in other words, it's easy to become pretty dang good with Nurse, but to reach the "God Tier" people talk about here, that's where the difficulty is, but I'm perfectly happy being 90% effective for only putting in 10% effort lol.
Nurse was my first Killer I committed to (only been playing a month) and after getting the purple perks I enjoy using (none of which were the "meta" perk loadouts people discuss for her), I was winning too often and too easily that it became boring, so I moved on from her.
1 -
This isn't true, especially on a map like Leary's. When you are blinking through walls you have to guess if they are going to keep running, turn, or double back. If you aren't able to see them on the first blink through the wall, then you have to guess.
4 -
Indoor maps are the only time it doesn't work well, but even then it still works a lot of the time. Or are you trying to tell me that I haven't had the experiences I've had?

I agree fully, and I am even playing on controller (but on PC still)
i have much more difficulties with long range killers (because of the controller) and Oni

She deserves nerfs. Even right now she’s ridiculously OP. Just because she requires dedication & time to master doesn’t mean she should 4K every game.
The blink recharge system was an utter failure as the only useful addons are the ones that happen to reduce the recharge to pre-nerf levels.
0 -
Something happening to Nurse again?
She's got a few useful addons, and her basekit is decent enough, people still having trouble facing her after over 4 years even with the nerf she got?
0 -
I'm telling you that most of your experience is against people who don't know how to play against Nurse. Bad players will just keep running or just keep doubling back. They don't adapt.
2 -
When you blink to the place they broke LoS, there isn't any time to try anything else, and either will land a guaranteed hit because you aren't predicting anything.

Not a great pic, but this is an example. If the survivor runs into that room on the left, there are at least 3 directions they can run. There are multiple objects/exits inside of a room that are RNG, so Nurse has to blindly blink in, hope she can see them, and if not, blindly guess which direction they went.
3 -
Dude nurse has the most efficency, the god killer, there will not be nerfs or buffs soon, just imagine from 5 blinks to 2 and still the god killer. They cannot do nothing,, what 1 blink,, all they can do is a full rework, same as freddy has.

Nurse is not that great but has the potential to be unstoppable if played very very well. So it's like, most matches she loses but when they know what they are doing there is no point to even playing.
I understand people's concern; but at the same time I have mad respect for a good nurse player. This whole "lol OP killer play real killer scrub" talk has to stop because that's completely nonsense and everyone knows it.

R1 ps4 nurse main here: the devs ACTUALLY FIXED THE MIDWICH BUG!!! I know, insane right?
1 -
Exactly. Nurse has the most counters a strong killer can have and STILL BE STRONG. Shes the most balanced ATM.
1 -
Same. I love midwich for her, but I LOATH using whispers on that map, since its a waste of a slot.
0 -
Yea, and id like her old basekit back too since there was no reason to change it, and she should imo have a covid nurse outfit.
0 -
She has a Hazardous outfit.
lol

Guess so lol
