What's the point of moris now?
So you need to get s survivor to second hook state to kill them (a boring, glitchy animation that takes at least as long as walking over to a hook).
So an iridescent add-on does what now?
Sure, ebony mori might have been overpowered before, but now it's entirely pointless.
Here's an idea: let's take mori offerings out and make it base kit. Let the killer decide to kill the survivor on the ground after second hook state (like current moris) or put them on a hook.
Because seriously: what is the point of the offering right now?

It's supposedto be a cool death animation not an instant win.

Well it can buy you a few seconds if no hook is very close to the survivor, which is nice.
And you can avoid and ignore DS when a survivor gets unhooked a second time, so it kind of still helps with tunneling a bit.
That's all i believe though. I'd much rather have it that way than them being completely broken. And I like the fact that I can actually use Mori animations now without gaining an advantage that helps me win the match.

Ya, if you're in a deadzone with no hooks or that DAVID sabos the hook, you can just drop your catch and be like "FINE, I CAN SKIN IT ON THE GROUND TOO". Then watch Davids horrified face as Nea pushes you off your victim to show you how you REALLY butcher someone.

Given that the ebony mori was released without even the first hook requirement they were meant to be a power trip offering.
As of now they have completely lost their purpose and are generally speaking detrimental to use as it takes more time to mori someone then it takes to hook them in most situations.
Also before you bring up DS I'll have to ask this:
Doesn't bringing up countering DS halfway(as it doesn't stop the first DS timer) as an advantage of a ULTRA RARE offering makes it kinda telling how over powered DS is?
Think about it.
Why SHOULD a killer has to bring an ultra rare offering to counter one perk halfway?

WHAT'S THE POINT OF MORIS NOW?
For you to WORK for your moris now.
6 -
They were always supposed to be a cool animation the devs said that at one point. I will look for it after this. You cant use release versions to justify its strength otherwise it wouldnt have been nerfed if it was supposed to be a power trip.
Once again it isnt supposed to win you the game. All of you're questions can be answered with the fact they changed it.
No mori was never supposed to counter DS it's just supposed to be a cool animation.
1 -
Should DS be changed to just be a cooler, better struggling animation?
Work for your survival.
10 -
They're now good for playing the kill animation which can save a few seconds instead of having to carry them, avoiding any plays by removing the need to carry them, not using up a Hook for a sacrifice & getting 300 more BP than hooking that Survivor.
Didn't say they were good, but there technically still are advantages.

It serves no function now, which is the main reason people are annoyed with the changes. It is purely cosmetic it has almost no function gameplay wise.
4 -
That's like one of the most ridiculous comparisons I have ever read.

The purpose is to get you not to use them. By the time you 2 hook someone, it's useless to use it unless you're getting a last ditch struggle kill.
The plan was to please survivors, which they did.
7 -
I really only used moris for the kill animation.
I still feel like there should be a base mori system for all killers after meeting certain criteria.
1 -
Moris were an easy win before this patch, honestly I dont have any problems with the changes cause I've never used them before unless I wanted to just play a meme build on a weak killer or just mess around... In fact, I think I've been killed more times than I've killed with It, and I usually play more killer.
You can tunnel the last hook if you want and also avoid things like flashlight/pallet saves or bodyblocks. It's still a very useful offering, it's just not broken anymore, and people wont dodge lobbies as much anymore.
That being said, I would've liked a key rework to go along side it but we all know how this game works in terms of balance...
2 -
There's a difference between perks and offerings though. If DS was something that could be added to an additional 4 perks, then yes, they could be comparable. Your comparison is on par with a survivor player saying "Should Ruin be changed to just be a cooler kicking animation? Work for your gen pressure" in response to someone complaining about keys, they just don't hold the same value.
3 -
This really makes running an ebony kinda pointless unless you want to see the animation multiple times. Most cases hooking someone will be faster and you will get to use perks like bbq and pop.

''What's the point of moris now''
To be a fun and cool offering, nothing else, this is how they should've been originally, not a free win to soothe your ego.
3 -
Don't feel strongly about the issue as I've only used moris for dailys, but I can tell you now, I'm never going to be able to get that Blood on your Face trophy with the way things are. :(

Moris allow you to avoid dealing with UB/DS/Flashlight Saves/Pallet Saves/Sabotage and other nuisances the survivors may pull on your way to the hook.
1 -
I love how people are saying moris are pointless now when they still do something, they just no longer do the thing that you want. and that's a quick kill. one hook and dead is now... well dead

Comparing DS to Moris is a new level.
You are galaxy brain, my God!
You should change your name to GalaxyBrainRGlarson13.
Let me guess, you think DS grants 60 seconds of "invincibility?"
2 -
it'll bite them in the ass next week so it's all good.

Content, my dude... Your comment is lacking it.

So it's basicly a 7000 BP cosmetic now? Interesting...

At this point they should just remove Cypress and Ivory Moris and make Ebony a Common.
1 -
Being able to mori and skip DS, survivors swarming you and body blocking to save their teammate, etc is pretty great....but at that point a green would do it.
Ebony mori is more of to flex now. I mean it lets you kill everyone when you are curb stomping.
My only gripe with the change is that they should adjust it to be less punishing on your rewards for using it.

I'd say put Cypress Morii basekit. You get a reward for acing the game in the form of a janky death animation.
2 -
You still get more use out of a hooking if you use BBQ or if you look around while carrying.
BHVR has doomed the Mori Offering thrice now.
- First they made it game breaking and unfun for survivors.
- Then they made it less game breaking and unfun for survivors.
- Now they made it useless.
I just want useful offerings.

killer mains will find a way to compare every single thing in existence to DS lol

Being a “cool animation” isn’t enough justification for a green or red offering. It needs to give a practical benefit on par with other similarly rare offerings.
That being said the fact that moris avoid Decisive Strike, flashlights and pallet saves and wiggling free make them have some benefit in the game, at least the Red and Green one. The Yellow one is worthless though, the vast majority of the time you down the last survivor they would die without that offering anyway. So Yellow probably still needs a buff, or maybe it should just be a bae ability for all killers.
2 -
Why do people act like offerings are supposed to be huge game changing things? The only other offerings that really affect gameplay in a noticeable way are map offerings and mist offerings. Map offerings are a bit of a gamble for survivors since some maps favor certain killers. The exception is if a map is survivor sided in general, but that's an issue of map balance not the offerings. Mist is annoying but not gamebreaking. Moris were ridiculous. You could remove someone from the game within a couple minutes and turn it into a 3v1. Now they simply let you see the killer's animation and counter DS after second hook. Making Cypress base kit and reducing the rarity of moris would be nice though.

If DS lasted infinitely and let the survivor instantly leave the match, then sure it can be a pink offering and equivalent to that of a mori.

Moris are objectively bad now, too much work is required for incredibly niche benefits. Im glad they are not gonna screw over survivors as much anymore, Honestly i rather see the offering disabled, because damn this is another bad offering for the pile.
2 -
Whats the point of moris? Obviously to show that killers are way way way to strong, next change will include severing the wraiths legs but giving him total invisibility

No, I'm pretty content with my comment.

FWIW, I think the animations are gross and i always considered them a reason not to use a mori. If they don't even speed up the kill process anymore I extra, extra don't want to use them.
But from the POV of playing survivor, I'm glad I don't have to die right after first hook.
