Kill Switch update: We have temporarily Kill Switched the Forgotten Ruins Map due to an issue that causes players to become stuck in place. The Map will remain out of rotation until this is resolved.

Hoarder

Recently, hoarder was nerfed so that it doesn't decrease the rarity if items. I think the perk having a counter to plunderers instinct was a good call. It's not like the perk was strong to begin with or will see much play. That's my two cents. I think the nerf should be reverted.

Yup, the worst part is Hoarder still spawns the extra chests so in a way, it's pretty detrimental to you. Rarity decrease I think isn't enough. I think survivors should have a guaranteed brown item for their first search if Hoarder is in effect

The change didn't happen for the sake of nerfing it, but due to technical issues with the loot tables.

This is the reason why Hoarder has been changed:

They are not done with the perk, they are looking into a solution for that problem.

I'm willing to bet it was nerfed because trying to code the rarity decrease caused unexpected problems that aren't easily fixed. I just can't believe this could possibly be a choice made because they thought the perk was too strong.

If they have problems decreasing the rarity in terms of percentages, they could make it so that with Hoarder survivors can't find anything better than brown, yellow, or at best green items. That seems more reasonable to code. Plunderer's be damned, Hoarder would trump that, and any item add-ons from Ace's perk would be guaranteed brown.

Then again, I've never seen their code, so who knows, it may be impossible to untangle.

Edit: Of course as I'm writing this an actual dev response is posted. D'oh.
