I am halfway ok with the mori nerf
Controversial...whoo...
Anyway, here's WHY I am ok with it and why I'm only HALF ok with it.
1. Moris DID allow low skill, tunneling killers to "feel good", like they accomplished something in the match, when either they could have played better or perhaps they went against a team that capitalized on any obvious mistakes or behaviours they exhibited during the match; frustration over many missed hits or insistent tunneling at the cost of others finishing all gens.
• Now, there are swfs who can abuse these mistakes IMMENSELY and it seems to be that they're high skilled or matchmaking has it out for killers.
There are many factors that are on case by case basis but much of the factors overlap and are constantly shouted into the abyss here, on youtube, twitter or twitch chats.
But the fact of the matter is it still was BAD when people chose these actions in matches that typically ended with an entity displeased or frustration because they were up against skilled teams and took it out on the next match they got into, I speak from experience from being guilty of this and recognizing it when I or my friends figure out what may have happened for them in a previous match based on perks, add ons and of course, a mori.
Granted, that's not always the case, some people just want to be as unfair or scummy as they can and hide behind the reply, "well it's the killers job to kill" yes. Yes It is. But there's a difference from learning to play at a high level and playing with a major ability that ends games and ultimately shows how low skilled you are by barely piping or maintaining a certain rank because of killer preferences that they may have.
And yes, I know not everyone has the time or effort wanted to achieve a higher level of skill to play the game but that also doesn't mean the people that do have the effort and time put in to achieve those levels need to be de ranked because a person had a bad match previously and went in full iridescent and optimal perk build (or sub optimal and hoping on nose) with a mori and even if it's just once or twice, I know enough people have done this to warrant people arguing about the balance and validity of perks and add ons and offerings because they experience it so much.
Now it's also not enough to be a major issue, it's not the majority of players, it's not even a good portion of the playerbases but it is an issue non the less and THIS is a good step to alleviating that.
The requirements demand a better skilled killer who can play well and make the games challenging enough to warrant to use, as the gifts they are described to be.
A gift from the entity to kill a survivor by your hands after they have felt their pain and sadness being hooked and almost being sacrificed.
I dunno about you but if I was the entity I wouldn't have given out ebonies cause If I satiate myself on the fear and despair and death of the people I drag into my foggy trials, I wouldn't want my food taken away from me.
But that's just me...
2. I'm only HALF fine with this because I feel ebonies and ivories should have switched values in both the blood web and the accumulated offerings. There's something wrong with the notion that killers are able to KILL ALL FOUR survivors with little effort shown to their eldritch tentacle God based on the amount of ebonies that spawn in bloodwebs at higher levels.
I feel 4 measly hooks arent enough to warrant letting food not go to whatever constitutes as the NTTs mouth...
And before people say "LOL entitled survivor main" I'm a red rank killer who mains huntress and previously oni, I don't use iri head if I can help it (me seeing toxic survivors show up again in a lobby means there's a 50/50 chance and for those ones only, revenge is a dish best served with a hatchet to the back of the head) but that rarely happens and when I use a mori it's because it's for a daily and I ONLY HAVE EBONIES or when I was doing the old tome challenges
I understand moris CAN be needed if the map rng is bad or they just sit on gens and you need people out to win but the cost of basically depiping and not learning better killer skills just to feel like you've won even though your score is abysmal and NTT is displeased, isn't keeping a good example of the reward for getting better...only that you can have an empty win.
All in all its a good thing to promote better learning to play killer and the ebony and ivory appearance rate needs to be switched.
But I do wish to see how many have opposite opinions or their reasoning while trying to not answer as any of the above statements as their reasons it's bad and I'm aware there are killers who wait for second hook to mori, they aren't what this nerf was for obviously, they rarely need it even if they constantly bring moris to up the fear and despairation for survivors, they probably have the skill to not even need them.
