Here's a quick fix to Keys
Personally, I play both Killer and Survivor on console but I play more Killer due to queue times.
Lately I've been getting more SWFs with keys and honestly I find it a little annoying because they can have a "get out of jail free card" and it punishes Killers that either don't have the gen pressure to not give survivors enough gens or for getting a kill or two in the match. I feel this was unintended for keys to be abused like this, especially in a Killer's face. Which is why I thought of this fix off the top of my head. So don't get mad at me if it seems too weak or broken to you.
If a survivor brings a key to the match and escape using the hatch, the hatch automatically closes and endgame starts. All other keys cannot open the hatch again or turn into broken keys. The remaining survivors get the "Abandoned" blood point bonus and the game moves on.
Why this change? To prevent multiple keys being used to get an easy escape, to punish survivors that use keys and potentially jeopardise their teammates escape, and to make games where survivors just gen rush to then find hatch and escape all together virtually impossible.
Another change to keys would be to have a startup animation instead of just jumping in.
These are just my ideas. Again, I play both sides and I just thought about this on the fly. Take care and I hope to see you in the fog!

The hatch is designed to stop anyone from keeping the game hostage.

Hatch is the only reason to continue playing a losing game as Survivor.

It doesn't seem like an easy fix.
Easy fix to keys is make 5 seconds progress bar to open hatch. And if survivor cancel opening, he has to fill progress bar from start, same as totem. Getting hit while opening also resets progress bar. And after opening hatch survivor don't escape immediately. Same as when you open chest and don't pick up item. When you open hatch you need to press spacebar again to escape.
Whole point of my suggestion is survivors can't escape right in front of you anymore. And they can't escape while chase.

A 'hotfix' for keys right now is remove them from chest spawns.

I understand your concern with Solo Queues and honestly I don't like it either. This was just an idea I thought of after a late night game and the whole point would be just to punish both the survivor that left and the survivors still in game. It does sound like a very bad idea but it's still just that. An Idea. Hopefully I didn't offend you with this post and I do hope keys get a better fix in the near future

I agree, now that I am fully awake I do think a startup animation to opening the hatch could make things better as I did say in the post. I think 5 seconds is too long however and would make it 3 or 3.5. Though this is just speculation.
