In this situation, as a killer what do you do? Please share your thoughts as survivors or killers
First of all, I main killer. I have about 2k hrs. mostly killer. As most killer mains know, playing killers is not about being good at the chases, but also knows how to control the survivors and apply pressure accordingly. it's both a skill-based and strategy game for the most part as a killer.
Because of my experience, I got more wins than losses. That just how the game is designed, you can't just win every game. I am constantly shocked by those R1~R3 survivors that teach you how to play as a nice killer in the aftergame chat simply because they didn't have a good game.
I make this post to let those R1-R2 "survivor mains" know that in some cases there aren't many choices for killers to make and you have to admit that and just keep going.
Ok, this morning I got a game like this:
I was playing nurse. survivors played efficiently (been extremely atriums and doing gens). I made a mistake in my second chases which takes longer than usual. By the time I got my 4th hook, there is only 1 gen left. As I just hooked the survivor, I noticed the other survivors (at least 2 due to infectious fright, one hide behind a pallet, one wants to distract me in open space) were around and waiting for rescue. Now here is the choice:
1) proxy camp the hook and slug nearby survivors if possible
2) leave and check gens
NOTE: both sides want to win the game of course.
So, my fellow killers and survivors, given what's on the table, If you were in such a situation, what would you do?
------------------------------My Choice as a Killer--------------------------------------------------
I took the first and it worked out by 3 man slug. the last one went away and I start to hook. Then the last survivor immediately came back for rescue. I react in time and slug the whole time and go away with 4k.

I would have done the same unless the 3 gens that were remaining were very close to each other.

I never proxy camp or face camp. I would have chosen one of the survivors hanging around and given chase - this gives us both points for chasing, and lets the other survivor rescue their fellow. To me, that's a win-win. We're all earning points, we're all having fun. I don't have to kill a single survivor to enjoy a game.

I think you missed the strategy part of the game. your choice is basically to give away at least 3 escapes for survivors in my opinion. I agree with Exerlin, I was being "nice" and didn't proxy camp in the early game when there are 3-5 gens left. When there is 1 gen left, being "nice" without doing something else is just saying "giving up" to those 1000hrs+ survivors.

You did what you felt was needed, it ends there. Everyone is playing a pvp game, so it's normal to expect the other side wants to win.
Those who don't play single player games, wich I do sometimes actually.

You saw an opportunity and you took it. You made the right choice.
Enough said.

As much as I hate how you pulled off the 4k, I must say I'm impressed on how you pulled it off. I can't really complain here because I think you made the right call.
Usually, I would've said something about you getting a "Fantastic" 4K to antagonize you but I can't because you turned the game around real quick; so kudo's to you.

They knew you were a nurse with infectious, should of just left you to camp, they could of done the gen and got 3 out. You pointed out your mistake early on and they took advantage, no reason you shouldn't do the same.

That's game over for survivors.
I mean... Why the ######### would a killer leave the hook if there's 2 people trying to get someone out as soon as you hook that person? The same reason why a survivor would stay on a gen for the hole match if the killer is not chasing them, to win the game.
And even if there was 5 gens left I would still go for option 1 as long as I had enough points to pip.

I would have done the same as well. You are occupying 3 players at the moment. Only way its bad for you is if 4th can finish last gen and open gates.
