Dead Hard or Balanced Landing
I personally really like both of these perks, but have a very hard time choosing between them.
Dead hard I find has a very clear counter once the killer knows you have it, or just blatantly guesses you do, but it also has many great uses, such as giving you just the right amount of distance to a pallet or some very great hit avoidance, as well as being able to dead hard right through trapper traps.
Balanced landing has a huge amount of benefit as it makes any area that was before a negative area to go for a survivor another place that you can use to run away with, the 75% faster stun recovery all the time allowing you to use just about any drop loop that you couldn't do without it, as well as the burst of speed on your first landing that you can make lots of distance or juke the killer with.
Between these perks and what they can offer, which would you consider the better option.

I think DH, especially against Nurse.
If I may suggest something - take Lithe, if you have it, and combine with DwM - it is strong as hell to juke the killer, and if you are running other stealth perks like UE or IW, killer will have a very hard time searching for you.

I've tried lithe + dwm combo before, but personally I don't think it's worth the 2 perk slots, since there's many ways to juke a killer without the use of them and a killer that is very good at tracking won't have much trouble keeping on you, or if they have gained a hit on you, you will still leave trails of blood that guide them fairly easily to your track location or general area.
Not saying Lithe is a bad perk, just that it doesn't offer as much IMO, definitely better than SB currently though.
UE & IW are pretty much key perks for juking rn

Yeah, I can;t even say how many times IW saved my ass from being found. I use it with Lithe, DWM and SC/UE, and it does wonders. Kinda sad, that stealth perks are rarely used.

Lithe>Dead hard=Balanced landing>Sprint burst. All are strong though. Dead hard and balanced landing are the same for me.

With lithe I always find myself having to use it on a jg gym which defeats the purpose I think, maybe I just use it wrong but two people recommended so I might try it out some more

There's some ways that dead hard never fails, dh to a pallet is safe and bait proof always.

Dead hard is better because it’s always usable unless killer has exhaustion add on. Balanced forces you to get to a higher point and sometimes you can’t0

Run both i know you will all say you can only use one exhasution perk effect but Balanced Landing is insane for the passive drop stun reduction. Its like the enduring for survivour and on maps like the game is insanely clutch. Plus if you encounter exhasution or instadown builds or add on killers you can use BL early instead of relying on dead hard.0

Definitely BL0

DH against billy and nurse, otherwise I prefer balanced landing

Why not both...0

Balance landing is right now for me the best exhaustion perk (excluding adrenaline which I use nonstop)

Use both.
Other than that i feel like you need to know the map more for BL than Dead Hard1 -
Since vacuum pallets are gone, dead hard can be a psuedo vacuum for the pallet and completely safe with timing0

I think for the average survivor, balanced landing/lithe/SB is always 100% the better choice. Any decent killer will anticipate your DH. Unless you are a super good survivor well taught in killer tactics, I just don't think DH will suit you very well.

I agree BL, lithe and SB are definitely better for newer players and dead hard obviously requires experience, but I personally have sunk many hours in this game now nearing about a thousand and have been rank 1 survivor many times and still find this a hard choice due to the general quality of life that BL has to offer0 -
I've been using BL recently only because it can make a huge difference in some maps, even without the Haste status. The only thing that drives me crazy about it is that there are spots where it should 100% trigger but doesn't because you went through a window or something.
DH is overrated. It works once against a good killer, that's all you get, and you have to use it so perfectly to get any benefit out of it. The distance you gain is so minimal, and if the killer just waits then you get hit. It's good against Nurse and that's about it. The only reason so many people use it is because killers constantly fall for it. But when you get one that doesn't, it's so worthless compared to SB, Lithe, or BL which can actually, you know, help you escape a chase. Plus you can't even use it against a one shot like chainsaw or MYC.

A killer would be stupid to just walk up and chainsaw when most people run sprint burst, they would be falling for the same thing over and over again like people who fall for people who misuse and overuse dead hard. And if you are observant you wouldn't need the early chase sprint burst anyway especially if you run spine chill.0
