Rift Extension
So I'd like to discuss it. Last Rift, there were many, including myself, left incredibly frustrated by the grind. There's plenty of past threads full of upset and oaths of never buying another Rift Pass.
What I want to know is if this extension has changed your mind or your participation in the Rift. I'm not addressing any other issues or perceived slights- only the extension of the Rift.
Why? Because whether it was meant as an olive branch to the community, or a smart business move, I fear staying silent will have a negative effect.
It's the holidays, full of stress and financial and familial obligation. Extending the Rift has made me more committed to playing. And if any of you feel like it's made a positive impact in your engagement with the game, I'm asking you to please speak up. There's enough negative critique, so I think it's very important as a community we speak up when we DO see a positive change. Because I know I'd definitely appreciate this kind of extension next holiday.

It has absolutely made me feel more comfortable with this rift. The more time we all have to complete the rift, the better

Currently thanks to the pandemic I've had a lot of free time almost a year, I don't go to school and I always finish the rifts.
But I do believe the grind for the rift needs to be less since most people buy separate passes example (r6s, cod, etc)
Most games that have passes have a double xp weekend and stuff except dbd which is the only thing I complain about it.
Hopefully the devs get into the sweet spot of the rift time not just 70 days especially when it takes that long and to answer the question.
Yes, this extension changed a little bit for normal people that do have to work and or school.

I appreciate it, my internet was out for a few days and I won't have to rush to catch up. A few double Fragment weekends along the way would be nice and may boost rift and game participation.

There is no such thing as "familial" obligation. You didn't sign a contract. When I don't want to deal with family at the holidays, I go into the other room and play a video game.

The extension was nice, but it hardly put a dent in the monumental grind ahead of me.

I'm hoping this extra week extends to the rift going forward. 77 days for 70 tiers is still tight, but it offers a little bit of leeway for those who lack the time required to grind it out.
I've found the time between rifts I tend to take a break from the game because I'm so exhausted from trying to finish, so extending them by a week and starting the next one immediately thereafter would allow me to play slightly more relaxed while also encouraging continued play without a break.

Before the extension (and Twitter code for Rift Fragments) I calculated that I'd have to get 9 fragments per day if I even wanted to complete it with 1 day left. Thanks to the extension, I've been motivated to play even more, and now only have to do 3.5 fragments every day, which is much more doable with 20 days still left.

I don't see why the rifts are only 70 days. I get the idea of 70 days and 70 tiers, but those 20 days without a rift is so pointless, if they gave us the full 90 days it would be much less stressful.

I completely ignored this rift, because the grind has become to much. Even f2p games have less grind for their battlepass. So unless the next rift changes drastically, i won´t bother with it.

I'm gonna state the big issue i have with dead by daylights battle pass. The grind is absolutely horrendous compared to any other battle pass i've done (r6s, apex). I've completed every dbd rift and all the r6s passes since they started them and good lord the grind is 3-4 times longer comparing the two. I believe the last rift i played between 120-170 hours in dbd to finish it, this is with doing all challenges in archives.
i do enjoy the game but i've burnt myself out of the game so much grinding the rift. I have currently around 10 tiers left to do and i'm in the same burnt out stage. I have only my tier 4 survivor challenges left which the wait time for survivor matches is sometimes longer than the actual match goes on for.
Either way i believe something with it needs to be revised and looked at whether its challenges awarding rift fragments, fragments requiring less xp to earn, or more fragments being able to be earned from the archives. The free 20 fragments and extension were nice though to help cushion the grind THIS pass.

@Jyn_Mojito Has young children so yeah I'd say she's obligated, particularly by law, to take care of those children.

Children are not "holiday specific". I also have two children. That doesn't change the rest of the year.

hmm maybe I'll burn the rest of my keys and wrap this up if the queues don't take too long for me, guess I'll have to play during the day sometimes to finish it where I live

Thanks for livening up this post with some epic trolling commentary, but I think it's more important to stay on topic. But thanks for visiting my thread! ❤

I absolutely approve of the extension. Some of these challenges like the "stun the killer 4 times in a single trial" one are annoyingly hard to do, and are gonna be trial in error if anything. So the extra time was much needed.
