Truth about DS
Have had access to it since I purchased the Halloween DLC with basegame 2 years ago. I think I've used it that one time to test it out and that's about it. Thought it was pretty garbage since on top of everything you have to do a difficult skillcheck, and never felt the need to include it in any build, because when does it realistically work anyway? 90% of survivors I see using DS get downed while attempting to escape. Never whitnessed this "aggressive" stance killers complain so much about, it possibly only happens in red ranks, and I've never gotten that far.
But after horribly lagging at the start of the match and being almost immediately downed because killer spawned very close to me, being unable to start struggling right away while being taken straight to the basement (the free hook wasn't enough for the killer), then being basement camped, downed and picked up again after someone attempted to rescue me, I really did think to myself . . . maybe I should start using DS. Even if I still don't think it would have helped much.
So killers, you brought this upon yourselves.

There's no reason not to bring it if you want the strongest perks. It gives you basically two minutes of invulnerability (1 minute x 2 for each hook stage) where the killer can only slug you (unless you bring UB) or pick you up, only to let you get away.
He can still tunnel you after but a DS stunning the killer ruins so much of their pressure and is game-changing.

Eh, as a solo survivor, I get farmed a lot. LOTS of games where two or all three teammates haven't even been touched much less hooked and I just keep getting farmed. I had a game the other day where I was downed FIVE times. One teammate was hit once but not hooked, the other two hadn't been touched. At least I had a chance with DS, especially when survivor queues are so long.

At first I thought, "I don't trust a Laurie talking about DS" but now I think "Ok, ok."
