List of problems I have with Oppression & some suggestions.

I'm currently thoroughly enjoying the new perks, but while toying with the perk Oppression I've noticed several problems I think should be changed.

  • Oppression does not award additional "Generator Damage" scoring events making it hard to determine how many generators were affected.

This is the most frustrating part of Oppression and the thing that I believe should be changed first. The "Generator Damage" scoring event serves as a tell for if the perk worked or not, and not being able to tell if your perk even had an effect is really disappointing and discourages people to use Oppression because they can't actively see the perk doing work. Allow Oppression to provide additional "Generator Damage" scoring events so people can use that as a tell to how much the perk is doing.

  • Oppression goes on cool-down even if it doesn't have an effect on any generators.

I'm not sure if this is a bug or not, but this seriously needs to go. If you don't believe me go into a custom match and test it yourself. No perk should go on cool-down if it doesn't proc the effect at all. Imagine if Surge went on cool-down on every down. This is what Oppression basically does.

  • Oppression chooses generators RANDOMLY.

This is a tiny nit-pick, but I honestly despise all forms of RNG on perks. It's unlikely that more than 4 generators on the map have progress, but if there were more than 4 gens with progression I wouldn't it to randomly target the one with 5% done. I'd suggest this be changed to: "When you damage a generator, up to 3 other generators with the highest amount of progress also begin regressing."

  • Oppression's cool-down is too long.

This may be a stretch because we've only had access to perk for 2ish weeks by now so my opinion could change in a month or two, but from my first impressions the perk just seems to take too long to recover from the cool-down. I'd suggest you change it to a 60 second cool-down instead. I don't really have any other reason to suggest a lower cool-down other than anecdotal experience, but it just really didn't feel right.

Thoughts? Anything else you noticed that bothered you?

The cooldown is fine, it's a perk that gives a killer borderline-passive gen pressure and the potential of intel along side it. Imagine kicking gens as and when, then on top of that, every 60 seconds being able to regress 4 while locating survivors too. Seems lazy to me.

Random is fine by me too, to have it work on the main focused gens all the time will further add to making it lazy. You have an area you're defending, the survivors are good enough to keep bulling those gens to keep you on your toes and juggling, every time it activated all of those gens regress with the potential of bonus regression from a skill-check miss.

Yeah, I agree it shouldn't activate if no other gen has progress when a gen is kicked.

The score event would be nice too, yeah, I agree there as well.

Oppression is a staple of my loadout now. So I would like to see it stay as is, but with the two additions I agreed with you on. That would be the sweet spot for the perks balance imo.
