Survivors: Why last second change to same character?

I had 2 matches recently where at the last moment in the lobby all the survivors switched to a single character. The first match was Claudettes and the second match was Bills. I try not to tunnel, but this was coordinated and they wore the same exact outfits too, and it was very difficult. I got a 4K with the Clauds and one Bill escaped through the hatch.

I'm just wondering why do it? To reduce tunneling? But now you might get accidently tunneled? I don't know. Just curious to wonder why it was done.

Thanks.

    It's done for memes normally.

I don't last second switch (a lot of killers do dodge though) but when I want to SWF we do this, just for the fun of it.

Currently we will play as Dwelf due to the holiday season.

It is often done for Memes as Mandy said, and sometimes it is done to try and confuse the Killer, to make it harder for you to know who still has DS, who has used Unbreakable, and so on. Sometimes it is done to do a handoff in a chase, i.e. a switch when out of site of a Killer trailing. Thus the fresh one runs on and you follow him/her while the original target doubles back to the Gen, and so on. Personally, I hate that two of the same Survivor are even allowed to appear in the match. At the very least I think it should force different cosmetics. But that is just me, and I'm sure the coding required would make that difficult.

Usually I am just leveling a side character with bloodpoints. Use all the time I can in lobby

Switch to main survivor for favorite perks/cosmetics.

Probably because killers usually bring a mori when they see 4 of the same character because they assume it's a SWF.

Although I guess with mori nerf it isn't as big of a deal anymore.

Last second switch is usually done by toxic survivors, that want to make sure, that you can't prepare for their loadout. Nearly every killer would adjust his loadout if he sees 4 clicky clicky Claudettes or 4 keys. But with the last second switch you have 0 time to equip Franklins, throw in a Mori or use better addons.

I pretty much only play solo survivor, but I have sometimes switched to match the other 3 survivors with the same character for the fun of it.

I've only been playing hardcore killer for the last week (got my gaming computer last Friday morning) so my experience/knowledge is somewhat limited. Do killers often change their perks based on what the survivors are carrying? I usually just play with my favorite/best perks regardless. However, if someone brings a key, I will give that survivor more attention (I don't camp or tunnel) than the others.

I have 2 - 3 Killers where I switch Franklins in or out, depending on the items in the Lobby. Before they locked killers in the lobby, I switched to Plague if I saw 3 Medkits.

They might as well remove moris from the game now. I used them rarely before and can't see why would ever use it now unless I was completely out of offerings.

when that happens immediately open task manager and killt he game process or hold your xbox guide or ps button and kill the app or you're in for a really bad time with troll with friends where you might as well sit staring in a corner hoping they get it over with and don't waste your time dancing around and not escaping and getting it over with. general rule of thumb as killer is when somebodyd oesn't ready up, expect this to happen and dodge it for another lobby while only readying up yourself once ALL FOUR survivors already have readied up themselves.

And if for some reaosn you let it get to the point they can pull the 'switcharooonyoo' again, kill the game as quickly as possible and if you did it too late just ea the dc penalty until the second time that happens with the timer if you don't learn to do it fast enough and call it a night and play or do something else. once swf plays "let's find a lobby" all night frequent enough, and has to wait through match loads just to go straight back into queue enough times, they'll learnt o stop pulling that kind of bs on killers or will get used to most of their dbd time being spent in queue.

When I do it is because I'm leveling up my characters. People complain so much about queue times, but sometimes I get a survivor match in like 30 seconds and can't spend the bloopoints I might have from a mission I just completed or something like that.

So I do it on the go (I also want to get perks, you know). As killer, I do the same thing, but less likely, since normally I have to wait some minutes before playing killer.
