Genuine question for survivor mains

Why do y'all hate doing gens? People complain so much about gen rushing yet when I play solo queue no one but me wants to do gens so why do y'all hate doing the objective so much?

That really depends who you get matched with. Some of them get scared at the smallest thing like you running past or the terror radius is just barely starting for them. Others will stick on generators and not get off till the killer is basically right next to them then get back on immediately if the killer goes away. Then you have people doing challenges which most challenges require you to do something else and not just generators.

You're not talking to survivor mains, you're talking to solo queue survivors.

    Generators are scary.

I usually am the only one that does everything. That includes getting chased, fixing gens, unhooking survivors (that get downed on the other side of the map), etc. It depends on the start game, you have to evaluate the circumstances. If the killer has ruin/undying combo I first see if the survivors are competent enough for long chases. If not it's totem chasing time, if they are it's gen rushing time. If the killer has discordance I avoid doing gens in pairs and go look for another gen instead. The only other reason why I don't wanna do gens is either cause I can see a 3gen about to happen or if I noticed that the killer has pop goes the weasel and don't wanna tap a gen that got worked on or if I see it's pointless and wait for the hatch (example 4 gens left only 2 survivors).

Either they're new to the game or veterans. If you're the latter you sorta get bored holding M1 after putting hundreds of hours playing as a Survivor. They only start to actually put effort when the killer is winning.

Oh then there's also the fact that you have to put do other stuff other doing generators, You don't get a pip just by doing that. That's what happens when a match can end in minutes if Survivors are dedicated to holding M1. Not enough points for everyone.

Others have said it but it’s boring. I’d much rather interact with the killer or even seek out totems than holding m1 for 80 seconds
