"Failed to accept party invite" on PS4
I had no luck via a DBD support ticket (neither of their solutions worked). I figured I 'd post to at least see if anyone else has been dealing with this since the Twins update.
The issue in question is this: I have two friends, Jeff and Pete, who want to play with my other 3 friends in a custom game. Pete just got the game a few days ago, while Jeff has been playing with us for a while with no issues. For some reason, if Jeff is in a game, Pete cannot join (the error is "failed to accept party invite"). If Pete is in a game, Jeff cannot join via the same error. This is true even if a third party attempts to send the invite. It seems like if one of them gets the error, they are locked out of playing with any of us until they reset the game: once they get the error, they often can't even create a new survivor lobby by themselves ("failed to create party" error). Neither myself or my 3 other friends have had this error at all, and we can all play with Pete or Jeff separately.
We've had it work briefly one time, after a cumulative 3 hours of trying over two days, and it was when they both accepted my invite at the exact same time. They both got into the game, but Jeff was kicked after about 15 seconds. To my knowledge, they both have Type 2 NAT (same as the rest of us), and Jeff is connected via wired while Pete is WiFi (as are the rest of us). To be clear, before Pete got the game, we had never seen this error before.
So far, we've tried: resetting all consoles, restarting the game on all consoles, swapping party leader after failed join, SWF, KYF, PS4 invites, in-game invites, resetting routers, testing connections, sending one single invite, sending multiple invites, joining lobbies in progress, ensuring all profiles are public, and basically any other troubleshooting we could come up with outside of reinstalling the game. If it matters, we are in the East US. The four of them are on PS4, I am on PS5.
We play lots of other games together and not one of them has had this issue, so it definitely seems DBD specific.

I might have figured it out. I finally broke down and called my internet provider and they told me that I had almost 100 ports in my port forwarding tab. They recommended deleting them. After I did this it finally worked. We have been trying everything. DMZ, firewall, port forwarding, wired vs wireless connection, etc. etc. etc. My brother has NAT Type 3 which cannot be changed and I had Type 2. We thought we wouldnt ever be able to play together again. I guess consoles naturally add lots of ports to the port forwarding of most routers.
