State of the Game Is Getting Too Much Band-Aid Fixes But No Real Solution

With Hex: Undying being released with Blight, It’s no surprise, Ruin/Undying combo is constantly discussed among both sides of the game, saying it needs to be nerfed, while others say it’s fair with totem spawns and how fast gen speeds are. Most killers opt to run it due to how effective is it to prevent generators from being completed, along with having Tinkerer which synergizes greatly with the perks, pushing other slow down perks away such as Corrupt Intervention and Pop. The problem the 2 perk combo is on killers who excel on chase and have good mobility leads to a bigger issue. Take Freddy for an example, he excels in chases and with good mobility with his teleports, he never has to worry about generators being completed as he can just break a chase if a gen is close to being finished and teleport to it, and instantly have his start regressing.

The perk combo is insanely strong on killers like him or Blight, which most also choose to play at with how strong he is too, but these matches being extremely unfun as a survivor because everybody would have to play perfectly and always be efficient on the generators, but how likely is that to happen as killer? A lot of streamers talk bout this build not being okay in the state it’s in, mainly Hex: Undying being the issue why it’s ran on Killers.

I understand playing a match as Killer and gens being done within 5mins of the game and only getting 3 hooks max is not fun too, but I want the game to be fair for both sides. And. Sure, there’s also DS + Unbreakable combo, killers have to deal with, but again, It’s next always seen unless it’s a 4man SWF. In my experience. DS is alone, which you then slug them, or not even used on survivors when I play both sides.

TLDR: The addition of Hex:Undying “temp fix” to help with totem spawns and slowing down games for killers, but leads to frustration and unfun as survivor

The story of DBD really. The devs likes to use perks as "fixes" for issues. DS is a fix for tunneling, BT is a fix for camping, yada yada. We all know it's a dumb idea but it's been this way for years.

I wish they actually stopped with their yearly plans or roadmap #########, and took their time on stuff, so they don’t feel rushed. Look what happened with The Twins, they released even when the killer had severed bugs that caused them to be unplayable. DS needs to be looked at still, to enforce as a just anti-tunnel perk instead of abused as offensive immunity which most players use because smart killers just slug out the timer. The only time DS is anti-tunnel is if the killer just wants that survivor dead.
