How would the survivors or even killers try to escape the realm?

Im not saying this to make you feel bad or the like, and only for thinking on, but the entity can't be a form of afterlife. It may have such capabilities (Rin AKA Spirit for example) but most if not all of it's inhabitants disappeared, even if they were in some public disaster (For example, Adam. He was in a public disaster with plenty of people, but his body had just disappeared). It seems more like it snatches them away on the brink of death into it's own "dimension" where it has complete control.
Killers follow a similar setup. Some on the verge of death (Rin, again), some just never are seen again (Ghostface presumably, trapper, wraith, hillbilly). They seem to be more snatched at opportune times than having died.

Well that's an interesting theory but I think ONLY Vigo escaped since in one of blight's addons says this
Vigo's Journal: The journal of a man who claimed to have returned from The Void. The knowledge within has practical applications
"In a wasteland of forgotten dreams and endless routine, the man with a way out is God." — Talbot Grimes
So this indicates that Vigo might have escaped the realm but the question is How?

He didnt escape. The void is a subrealm where discarded killers and survivors go (i cant remember what officially said this, but i know its official). To escape the void would just put you back where you started most likely

Vigo and the Observer have their own pocket dimensions separate from the trial grounds and can choose not to participate.
We know less details about Vigo, but the Observer is currently able to control the fog and do pretty much anything he wants except escape to the real world.

A personal theory of mine is that these two are allowed to do so by the entity and havent really outsmarted it. Its watching them curiously to see what they do. In vigos case it may be curious about itself and letting vigo study it in an attempt to learn about itself.
