Killers need to be challenged more(in my opinion)

I know the title of this thread is going to attract a lot of hate and that’s ok because everyone has their own point of view, but as a new player I feel I’m not faced with enough challenge in terms of testing my ability as a killer. And to the point of “low ranks are easy and high ranks are hard for killers”, I mostly get matched with red and purple ranks, I don’t use hex perks (I personally find them to be training wheels and I like to stand on my own) and I still find it way to easy to find and down survivors. That’s not to say that I always sacrifice all survivors, there are some games where I might not get any sacrifices, but far to often the game ends in my favor without me putting in much effort and I find it so boring. I want a challenge development team, let’s see what you’ve got.

  • What rank are you? You said it yourself you're a new player so you could be getting bad players. As for the higher ranks it's possible you might be getting boosted players as a lot of red ranks are bad because they get carried.

Well if you really want a challenge, then I suppose you wait for a "bully swf/squad" to join your lobby. They usually consist of 4 flashlights/toolboxes or a mix of both. Not to mention a Nea is usually in every bully squad. They're very toxic obviously so watch out and get ready for their messages.

Or play as nurse with no perks... that's usually a challenge for most players in this community.

There are survivor groups with like 100+ 4 man escape records. If you want a challenge, there is always someone up to it.

Just because matchmaker/rank system is terrible doesn't mean everyone should suffer more on top of that.

Atm 13 as I have not been playing as much the past 2 months but I still get matched with high ranks. That said I’m referring to those high ranked matches as not being challenging enough as the lower rank matches don’t even need mentioning

You will learn buddy. A good team of experienced Survivors is expected to 4E unless they face an incredibly skilled Killer using a top Killer with top perks and addons.

I’ve played with many groups such as this and while they are more difficult, I’m still able to get at least one hook on them. I’m not surprised they are more skilled than me if they’ve got more experience than I do, but in random matchmaking hoping you run into that one group is not enough for me. It still leaves the majority of my matches feeling dissatisfied and I have no interest in kyf.

I disagree, I haven’t been using add ons and have had matches where I’ve killed a whole team of red ranks even with their flashlight saves. I’m not saying I’m 4K every game, but it’s way to easy for me against players that are supposed to be more experienced which is not what I expected from this game

I don’t feel like one survivors group record has any relationship to the challenge of in game experience, but nonetheless the focus of the game ought to be delivering a challenging experience for whoever is playing

Get to rank 1 consistently and you will have enough challenge, especially if yo play in the evening.

Try to play the game in a respectful way. Don't try to camp, tunnel and slug. Try to 12 hook everyone.

If you'll do that you will see how easy it is for survivors to do gens and escape.

    Good luck on your journey.

Honestly rank means nothing in terms of matchmaking and I don’t need to 12 hook everyone, I don’t think anyone here understands what I mean when I use the term challenging. Victory, such as it applies to this game, is not at all the same as challenging, otherwise I would have use that word. And I do play without camping or tunneling in case you have assumed that I don’t

Theres a lot of disparity in killer power. You have some killers that have to work a lot for only a little real reward ( Trapper, Wraith, Clown, Legion and The Twins if you aren't a camping scumbag) ones that are extremely hard to play but once mastered are nigh uncounterable (Only really Nurse, Blight to a lesser extent but he is definitely easier to learn and doesn't break the game wide open and has clear counterplay) some who are middle of the road like Doctor and Pyramid, Huntress who is very strong but also extremely map dependant. Then you have killers that are extremely strong but very easy to play and don't require much mechanical skill (Spirit, Freddy, Deathslinger).

It must make balancing the mountain of killer perks and map layouts a complete nightmare.

Fun fact. Playing during peak times means you're actually significantly more likely to get lower ranked/worse survivors due to the sheer difference in player counts. I only get good matches against good players during the day time. I don't even play killer in the evenings anymore as its too easy.

I agree with most of that, though I think legion is pretty easy as long as you know what your doing and pyramid in my opinion is of of the easiest killers to play, way too easy honestly.

For me it is the complete opposite since most SWF's are playing in the evening.

Rank means alot when it comes to matchmaking. Sure, you will get your red ranks player too if you are in green ranks but it does work in most of the times. When I play at rank 1 I mostly get the ranks I should. Doesn't mean that these players have the skill level that they should have at these ranks but you will face a lot of high skill survivors.

Come back if you have reached Rank 1 and stayed there for a long time. The experience that you are describing is common among new killers but it's a false premise. No killer main will ever say that they are not challenged enough. As long as games can end in 5 minutes and you can't do anything about it, there is no way that the game needs to be harder for killer.

You have probably encountered a lot of boosted survivors and Solo queue players.

But hey...if your current games are kinda boring because the survivors are all potatoes try low Tier killers. Or try to adept Nurse, Huntress or Blight. Long learning curves but high reward.

If you want a challenge all you have to do is play Wraith. Outright the worst killer in the game. He can't even get his gimmick of being invisible right.

Ive played both sides enough to say that I’ve personally experienced games where rank 1 killers get match with say a rank 2, 3, 9 and 14, which is not what I would consider a proper matchmaking system and games where low rank killers are matched with high rank survivors. Yes, it does also properly match you sometimes, but I’ve seen that the former is more common. I’ve also met and made friends with a number of killer mains who share my opinion and we discuss the topic often and in great detail and most of them are red ranks. I assure you, the higher rank killers who don’t feel they are challenged exist, even if you have not encountered them.

I’m not disputing that there are crap killers out there, although wraith has his strengths when played properly, but yes he is difficult

How I see it is that he is just a worse version of spirit. She goes actually invisible, is faster and doesn't give people a super long warning that she is about to attack

Gee. You must be the most talented new killer ever. How can the devs possibly make killer more challenging for a prodigy such as yourself? 😄

Why do you say you don't use hex perks? And why are those perks such as Lullaby, Third Seal, etc. "training wheels"?

That aside, you could always take the most direct method and give yourself an edict to always pick up a survivor before downing another. That should make the game significantly harder against competent players.
