Why are survivors vaulting at me?
I'm almost certain this is a fad some streamer started, but recently I get a ton of survivors vaulting at me after they stun me.
Since I run enduring this pretty much gives me a free down, so I'm curious to know what its trying to achieve, and whom to blame in my solo queue games for when my teammates decide to kill themselves attempting this nonsense.

There's CJ tech but that requires a downed survivor and a flash light.
There's also another one I've seen a YouTuber do months ago but it only works against really awful killers. I'm not totally sure how it works or I might be misremembering it, since I only saw them do it a bunch but they didn't explain what it was (they were testing/bullying a nooby killer). You pallet stun the killer and then slide back to the killer. If the nooby killer spams swing/holds it down during the stun (dunno which) due to inexperience or rashness, then the survivor can kinda step into the killer and not get hit (no clue how it works). Then the survivor just slides back over the pallet before the killer recovers from hitting it, since they're body blocked.
Oh wait that's just dumb tech.

Ayrun does this tech on the tube of yube, i forgot what it's called...

"dumb tech".
@Topic:
In general, techs like this should not be tried. If the Killer has at least 2 Braincells, it will not work, same with CJ-Techs. People who watch the videos should be shure that for the 3 times they show it in the video, it did not work like 100 times before.
But against me, please keep doing CJ-Techs. Hopefully injured, so that I can the grab and not just the Hit.

is this why i get confused sometimes at survivor's actions??? lmfao like ######### are you doing. It works because i let go of the mouse and keyboard out of disbelief...

I mean I get vacuumed into lockers by accident all the time. I assume it's probably mostly that.

Sometimes the killer appears beside you like they got vacuumed over to your side. I vaulted into a few killers simply cause they teleported beside me but then back over as I vault.

Only found out this was a thing today since i have had a break from dbd. How do you counter it? The survivor vaulted into me and i did not swing or hold the attack down and they just waited for me to turn around to vault back.

*vaults menacingly in your direction*

It's called a dumb tech, replaced window teaching basically since that was removed.
1 -
yeah that doesn't sound like a "tech", more just that some dumb killers exist I guess.
1 -
Walk backwards. Now you can see when they vault back and hit them. Should they decide to run away behind your back you dont lose distance.

It's called dumb tech. It's generally used against baby killers.

Because they watch too much YT and they think they're the second coming of they're favorite childish content creator.

Dumb tech. It's so dumb it works.
1 -
Yea CJ techs are so easily countered, literally just have to step back and let them vault into you and not spam the pallet break , I don't understand why people still go for that stuff it just gives the killer 2 down at once
2 -
Exactly. People trying to do this will most of the time give the Killer a lot of Map Pressure, possibly two Hooks instead of one at the same time. I always hope for a CJ-Tech when a Survivor has a Flashlight and is next to a Pallet with a downed Survivor under it. Especially when they are injured, just pressing M1 instead of Space gives a free Grab.
Compilations where it works might really look funny, but it cannot be said enough that for every time it works, there are multiple times where it does not work.

You'd be absolutely shocked at how often the dumb tech works.
3 -
I mean sure it works against some killers but even then you're vaulting to the same side as the killer and if they dont swing on you then you've just shortened your own chase by trolling, I can't tell you how many times I've seen survivors do this and end up smacked down shortly after when they would've been better off continuing the chase like normal

Dumb Tech.
The only reason I do it is if I have a challenge to stun the killer or drop X pallets. So I make sure he doesn't have Enduring, equip Lithe + Dance With Me + Any Means Necessary and proceed to dumb tech and hide so I can reset the pallet and use it again later without wasting resources for the team.

I just put on a hawkins offering, no one cares if you waste those pallets

Perhaps they think you are a hunka hunk of burning love? :)
1 -
Some of those pallets are deceptively good. If you drop the unsafe ones in corners outside the tiles when you have a good distance on a killer, you can make long loops and it usually takes a while for a killer to catch on and start breaking them. I also don't wanna risk a ghostface in that place :P

Yeah

It's the dumb-tech. If a survivor does this to you at a pallet, simply back up which allows you to get a hit if they stay inside of your model or get a hit if they try to run the loop while you're lost. Never swing when they vault into you.
2 -
Its because the hitbox on a swing doesnt share the collision box of a killer. By vaulting into the stunned killer, you end up in their collision box. Since the hitbox of the attack is always in front of the killer it will swing, hit the pallet, and because you're still next to the pallet (even if you're inside the killer) you can vault it.
