Mechanical Obsession Challenge In Tome 1 Glitched?

Is their a glitch with the challenge Mechanical Obsession in Tome 1. It seems pretty straightforward in the description. Damage the same generator 2 times yet it never seems to give credit for it.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong with it but I would like to finish that one since it has a story attached to it.

Can’t remember having problems with it.
Doesn’t mean there is no glitch/bug however.
