Auto haven needs to be reverted

The amount of dead zones seems ridiculous. I’m not a bad killer or survivor and before the update I was having no problem as killer finding survivors, even when they were hiding. I think the amount of open space in the new maps is tipping the balance in favour of the killer and quite frankly makes the game much more boring.

I am writing this after getting served on these maps three times so I may be a bit biased but I really don’t think the need was necessary. Looking around the map it’s so boring to just see an empty field with no grass or obstacles, it’s like it’s devolved.

I agree. Its not only the dead zones, but also the aesthetic of it. Too dark and ... just not good looking. And all those random mini tiles to fill in... they just dont do it for me.

Overall they did a good job with McMillan, Springwood and Ormond, but Auto Haven - all 5 of them are just really bad.

I would disagree on the map being dark. I think its a good thing for the map to be dark as it promotes a playable that is different from the norm in red ranks. That playstyle being stealth. Before the new autohaven I don't think I have been able to hide from the killer long because of how bright the map was.

The problem is that this map offers few things in a chase, and few things for hidding.

I find it a good thing if one or the other is true, because it forces people to play different on different maps, but here i it is very hard to juke the killer, because there are few los breaker and not a lot of places where you could have gone if you managed to get out of sight.

But also not much to work with in a chase.

What needs to be reverted is the adept for killers. make it a 4K with the three perks. like it used to be.

I play both sides and it's far easier for survivors to get adept then killers. I've also gotten adept with some and have to get it again thanks to trophies. and some of them were a lot of work to do.

It´s not only gotten worse for Survivors.

As a tall Killer, say goodbye to any mindgames in the gyms - your head can be seen over the walls, and your body often, too since there are so many see-through gaps. It´s like old coldwind gyms are back, but worse.

Also, Trapper suffered from the reworked grounds and grass there.

The issue isn't just that it's dark, it's that for some reason in most dark areas scratch marks don't even show clearly.

Only on the new Autohaven maps do the scratch marks not glow in the dark. Look at "the Game" map. The lower level has many dark hiding spots, but if you are flushed out, your scratch marks are clearly visible.

I really just hate the new look of this map and Macmillan. I wish both would change back tbh.

agreed. devs keep changing things that don't need to be changed, and they end up being worse

    i like the graphic updates.

however, there are a few things i too have a problem with:

    • the hitboxes (especially on Autohaven) NEED to be looked at again.
    • the grass needs to be thickened, playing Trapper on those maps is almost pointless, as everyone can quite easily spot a Trap through the grass anyway.
    • the ground textures should be darker - again, Trapper suffers from this.
    • the darkness should be tuned down a bit. seriously, its way too dark to properly keep track of people.

but just from how everything looks i think its an upgrade to before.

the only thing they could do to improbe it imo is to add some more depth to the terrain so its not just one (perfectly) flat field with obstacles on top of it.
