Keyboard and mouse on Xbox?

I currently play Dead By Daylight on Xbox and want to make the transition to PC. However, I do not have a good enough PC to run DBD and can't afford to buy a gaming PC. However, I do want to try keyboard and mouse instead of controller. Is it worth buying a gaming keyboard and mouse to play Xbox instead of controller or is it best to just stick to controller when playing DBD on console?
