This was really the beginning
It's September now, we've got chapter 9 released recently and we're somewhere near the middle of the year 3 roadmap. So why won't we look back and see, what was promised to us in "This is only the beginning" video and check what's done already?
1)They've been following the new release roadmap quite correctly with chapter releases in the beginning of season and mid-chapter update in the middle. Done!
2)All non-licensed characters are also unlockable with playtime. Though, it's actually a lot of playtime, they didn't ever say that you'll be able to easily unlock characters. - Done!
3)A LOT of new being sold and most of not very rare stuff is available for free. - Done!
4)Ranking. I'll go a bit more detailed on this one, though.
4.1)Emblem system is up, running, and it's good. They've also done some changes to deranking and rank reset. this part - Done.
4.2)Leaderbords. And that's not actually done yet, but, hopefully, they'll make it before year 4. - Has to be done.
5)New tutorial is actually playable and gives you the basics you need just to understand, what's happening. For other things - there's a guide, loading screen advices. - Done!
6)LOP. So, I can't really say anything about it, but I can say that there were some saving issues in the last month, but it's definetly getting better. - Idk
7)Anticheat update. YAY finally EAC stopped being some trashy useless thingie, that was bypassed by everyone and everything, but we should wait a bit more till we know. - Done, but not surely.
8)PTB. OK, first, they do push PTB before every major update now, but there's one thing that makes this look worse. It's called "The Spirit". She was on the PTB, she was tested by the players, who gave their feedback, and their feedback's gone to "Go [VERY BAD WORD] Your Feedback" land. She was weak and bugged, she's still weak and bugged. But at least, we've got the voice now. Not to mention the missing katana shatter animation. - I'm frustrated, but this one's Done and it actualy helps catch a lot of bugs and change some things before release (At least the Clown was buffed on the PTB).
So, I'd say devs are trying to follow their roadmap pretty good, and I like that they still try to improve and be creative. But, as always, something turns out being another good job so far, but that's another story.
