What's Happening with the Early Game changes?

I remember there being talk of doing something similar to EGC for the Early Game.

I believe they only said they'd look into it or try some stuff out, so just curious if theres been any other info out there or if we can get an update.

    Probably nothing, since they outright ignored questions about it in the last QnA. They have'nt talked about it for about a year as well.

    I wouldn't expect much in the next year or so, like jdcabral said.

    This is unfortunate, was really hoping for something to give killers a better start, while also allowing time for survivors to only hunt for totems/chests/etc.

    When Almo mentioned he knows the chapters coming 4 chapters in advance, I lost all hope.

    How can they ever plan to balance and fix their game if they are fixated on chapter releases?

    Yeah, maybe a bigger company could do both at the same time but this one cannot. By the time the next chapter comes out, they are already putting their time investment into the next...and the next. I won't even talk about how they are going to fix the problem the chapter itself causes *cough Twins cough*.

    It was talked about on the 4th anniversary on the stream, and they said that earlier this year we might know something. They called it: Some new mechanics for the beginning of the games, something similar to the End Game Collpase. But, perhaps it will take time because this requires time and perhaps the first information will arrive in March with the new killer i guess. But yeah, devs should keep us posted.

    Maybe they realized it would be a massive effort to balance.

    You either make it too weak to the point it does nothing (cough hit validation cough cough), or you do make it impactful, but then you need to overhaul all the gen defence items.

    It was really weird how they ignored the questions. But there has been much going on with Cross Progression/Cross Play, Hit validation, MMR, graphic updates and new chapters.

    still hope they will give new information/ update on what’s going on with this as well as new prestige rewards and Daily system.. all of which was mentioned in the 4th year anniversary stream and kind of expected during this year..

    You mean corrupt or that funny suggestion where gens would get slowed to infinity till someone get hooked or something?

    Would like to see something like that being forced on people making those suggestions.

    Neither, devs announced ages back some changes to the early game but no more info than that, and have been largely silent since.

    I asked this when Hex: Undying was released because it seemed to do just that, which was a bad idea if this was their intention because it requires you to own it first. And now that more people are using it, there was mention that it might need looking at. So, if they were considering using perks for an early game stall, they can't be too strong, and I really don't think it's the way to go either.

    I'd rather them do things to make stimulating gameplay, like designing more engaging challenges and dailies. The foundation is already there to stall out the game. The added bloodpoints wouldn't hurt either.

    It’s coming guys it’s probably taking a long time cause they have to code and develop a completely new startup for the game and try to balance it for both sides it’s probably very hard to make just stop giving up and wait. If this Early game thing doesn’t come out by the end of 2021 then yes I will agree but we just have to wait

    It's hard to ask for early game slowdown with the kill rates hovering around 65 percent or so.

    Discordance is my go to early game slowdown. Start with a grab or quick hook.

    Didn't Almo or someone say that they never actually confirmed the early game slowdown? In the QnA stream where he said Object was a weak perk. That seemed like pretty express "my stats show that killers are strong enough so the early game doesn't need a change" to me.
