Something should be done about suiciding to avoid a mori
I see this way too often and I've had it done to me quite a bit. The mori has since been adjusted and is no longer problematic to play against. You would be dead anyway by the time the killer can use a mori now. That being said, it isn't right to have killers waste ultra rare offerings just because a survivor is too salty to play the game out and possibly escape. Especially considering the amount of points and RNG it takes to get one in the first place. When all four survivors do this (which is fairly frequently) it takes that ultra rare offering and gives it the finger. The problem is you can't give it back if the killer doesn't get to use it, because that could just reward the killer for playing bad. That doesn't mean some solution can't be found though

That still happens?

The solution is simple. Before the trial, provide the survivors with a copy of your rulebook.
Don't worry, it's a given they'll gift one of theirs to you as well.

As much as I don't condone that behavior, Ebony Moris are "ultra rare" just as a form of classification. They are next to brown add-ons as odds of appearing.

Sorry but I cannot sympathize with the OP on this. You talk about losing a rare offering when you have a perk that literally deletes any item a survivor has if they get hit and unable to recover in a very short amount of time. Survivors wanting to avoid a mori is not a bad thing because they lose items and depip in most situations when they do this. Its not just you suffering a loss. They do too. Besides all that, moris deter a lot of people from playing survivor in this game. I can't think of anything more unfun and annoying in the game than the way moris were before the change. Even with the change, they're still not fun to play against because it often encourages tunneling to recently hooked survivors which is another big problem in the game.

Wait, survivors still dc against moris?

Yeah. Way too frequently

You don't have to sympathize with me. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions. To be fair, I play both sides equally and while I don't like the mori, they are way less annoying now to the point where I just accept it because at that point I was going to die anyway. I personally never agreed with the change to Franklin's Demise. I just think that was wrong. That being said I hardly see it ran much anyway even in red ranks with crossplay. They might depip, but the killer still gets cheated out of a mori when this happens which in my opinion isn't right especially now that they've been changed. As far as the tunnelling, now Decisive Strike and Borrowed Time are even better deterrents.

You must have better luck than me. I got about as much chance of getting a mori as I do winning the lottery

Wouldn't a rulebook suggest it is made up rules of a way they should play? That's not what this is. The game tells survivors they are supposed to escape alive by any means, not suicide on hook. Much like it tells killers to kill by any means, not stand in a corner or disconnect because you got upset by something the survivors did. Really I see it as a refusing to participate in normal gameplay thing done out of pure selfishness. Most times someone suicides they could have helped their team in the endgame and still possibly gotten out alive

Is that so? That happens to my friends as well, so I really didn't think it was a thing just for me.

The way my luck seems to go in games like this is I can get everything except what I'm looking for. I can get purple add-ons galore which I don't want but go 20 bloodwebs at level 50 without a single ebony mori or iridescent add-on

Agreed. The devs don’t though. Camping and tunneling are valid ways to play the game. Strongly encourage playing that way if you have a dev in lobby. Especially when they’re mid-stream. The more unfun, I mean, “valid” the experience, the better 😂

What the hell could you possibly do to stop it?

LOL if players are doing that they are dummmmb
even if your mori'd off hook right away your still wasting the killers time and thus helping your team, also unless the killer is camping you that probably wont happen so you killing yourself on the off chance it does happen again is just you being dumb.

Ah, that always seems to be the case. To be honest, I have plenty of Ebony Moris in pretty much every killer, but I don't even want them.

That's why I really don't understand it. The chance of you being killed right off hook are slim to none

Crazy that people still DC gto a mori. I guess they didnt' get the memo.

Apparently. You'd be surprised how little people actually read the patch notes.
