Took a break, came back and can't believe Moris got nerfed while Keys remain untouched
So, after a break I came back to DbD, as it is the game I play when I want to relax from my "main game". I play survivor only, and I was shocked to hear that Moris have been nerfed, but red keys remain the same easy escape they were before I left. To me, Mori and Keys always were the same in that they were an easy way out, being able to change the going of a losing game while requiring absolutely no skill whatsoever. Seeing red Mori being nerfed so that its now only purpose is to maybe ignore a late DS while a key providing a possible escape for all 4 survivors (in theory) makes me really feel sympathy towards killer mains. In higher ranks, the game is balanced survivor friendly anyway. I know that some red killer addons are too strong too, but in my mind keys were always an equivalent to Mori. Is there any chance keys will get nerfed too, or is this game getting more and more survivor friendly in terms of balance?

Yes. Yes there is. The devs have confirmed many, many times that key changes are on their way, however mori changes were easier to do (changing the number of needed hooks from 1 to 2) and they're planning a full overhaul of the key system, which will naturally take more time.
Furthermore, like they did with the mori changes, they'll probably avoid announcing the changes until the day they go live, because otherwise everyone will use all of their keys before the change and make the game a living hell.

Keys will definitely be changed at some point.
The main difference between moris and keys in terms of balancing is that the devs could easily change moris without having to change a load of other stuff as well (animations, add ons, achievements, etc.).
Any change they make to keys will require changing other gameplay elements. And I’m pretty sure they’re gonna rework how keys actually function, rather than just changing a number like they did with moris.

Wow, thank you for the quick and helpful response! Since I'm not that active in the community, I didn't know about those plans. Thanks for the clarification! Then I'm just gonna be excited for what they come up with!

Easiest fix in the world make hatch spawn at all 5 gens done or no survivor alive. The key still has the purpose of bypassing obnoxious gate placements and it still leaves the achievement intact. Anything like hatch save one person, requires an unlocking actions is overcomplicating the item and bringing a whole host of new issues that will lead to a worse solo queue experience why does behavior insist on taking the most ridiculous paths that yield even more complications. Any programmer worth there salt could program this in a heartbeat.
