Nintendo switch connection issue

Dbd 4.4.2 on an animal crossing Nintendo switch with software 11.0.1
The game boots up fine and loads everything up until inviting or being invited to a group. Then it says
“connection lost
server connection error: some social features may be unavailable”
I can see my friends online and all other online features of my switch works.
I have deleted and reinstalled the game twice and that hasn’t fixed the issue.
any suggestions to fix this?
