Some lamentations for the state of DBD

Too often I have seen perks come out that just have no viability for survivor or killer. They just stink, and when they do make something that could be viable, they nerf that thing to irrelevance. Case in point perks like mettle of man and undying. It took them longer to touch undying than it did to make MoM a meme perk, but alas it is upon us.
Don't get me wrong, I like the versatility undying combos with now where as before only haunted ground and ruin would really work with it. For those who don't know, if you ran devour with undying, it would reset your stacks when devour respawned. Yet they knew undying was a very powerful perk, and knew survivors would get around to complaining about instead of running some totem detection perks like Detectives hunch because they have the real power to change the game.
So, what is it about these perks that survivors have such a problem with. The answer is simply they feel like they are getting cucked. The hardest part about being a survivor (solo especially) is you can't really count on your team to plays as optimally as you do. Or if you are that bad survivor then your games when you sneak to high rank by playing swf are being designated gen ######### until the killer realizes you suck and then gets you out of the game. But hold on, you have cuck the killer perks. You tbag at a gen before sprint bursting off, you bomb rush hooks to use deliverance, you should guard, you last min save with borrowed, you run adrenaline, you run comradery in swf just for that killer who face camps (most people have forgotten this perk exist btw and makes killers think the game is broken), you dead hard, you unbreakable, you run object of obsession, and you run the fabled perk that just by the possibility it could be in a game forces killers to slug, leave you in lockers after unhook, and stand at the exit zone praying the slug inching out doesn't have it or hoping it's timer runs out before you get there.
The true power these perks and the killer counterparts is simply time. They waste time, waste effort. Good killers and survivors alike get this feeling when they are faced against these perks that don't add to a scary experience, or a pleasurable one, but simply add or subtract how much time is left till the match is over. DS isn't scary for killers because its stun is 5 seconds, but it makes you feel like TIME IS WASTED. Undying feels the same because the ultimate goal relies on this tug of war of one side trying to make the game last as long as possible and one side trying to make the game as short as possible. Virtually in every scenario, survivors give up when the time a killer has to find them is virtually infinite, because no matter how well they run the killer around the map, if its a 2v1 with 3 gens left those gens are not getting done without some communication, and in their mind the game is over and opportunity to succeed is no longer an option.
The emblem system of course to make people feel like they won the game is to make an arbitrary system of win condition. Escape for survivor does not mean you win, it only COUNTS TOWARDS THE IDEA THAT YOU WON. Same for killer, it doesn't matter if you slugged everyone and every character is sacrificed or killed, you lose because the game did not last long enough, and your job is to make the game last longer, not to 4K. So in the end, feedback from the game assigning victory to either side becomes virtually meaningless, and it is up to the player themselves to ascribe their own win conditions.
So as future updates roll out, I expect we will see more perks aligned with the same principle. Killer perks help make the game last longer, and survivor perks help the game shorter. Is there a solution to this, or is it so firmly established this is what the game is and its conditions for victory can never change.
Maybe I will do a post about some perk ideas in the meantime.

If you have a better word then I'll use it, but it has to convey the same idea within just as many syllables and everybody else has to know what it means without looking it up. On that note, I don't like the word "distaste" as its repeated negative connotations are always to express ones elitist sympathies that give them a privilege to look down on others. Maybe we should update the language filter.

Look dude, its just lame that your choice to engage with content was focused on mind policing because you are seeing politics where there are none. Maybe save that trash for some unhinged twitter rants or vote down if you get offended at less than .001% of the ideas here.

It's frustrating that if someone is trying to gather further insight on this post by looking through comments and all they see is you and me going at it over a word. If you want to complain about the language filter then fine, go do that in your own post. If you want, how about we compromise here. We both delete our comments, and I'll change the word in the OP to robbed. Can you live with that?
