Salty "Dox"

Did anyone else ever had a post game chat where one or more salty ppl go through the work of opening your steam profile and gather your name/ city? then go to post game chat and post it saying some lame #########/threat to intimidate you?

If you do that kind of lame stuff stuff and you're reading this now, I want you to know my dear salty one, that you just make the "victim's" day so happy for a minute or so, and for that, i want to thank you! you're so cute!

I'm really curious to why ppl do that.. low self steem? lil pp? whatever the reason, i rejoyce so nicely thinking about how miserable this person has to be to do that . So, again, thank you! after i have some fun at the cost of your sanity/salty I move on to next match like a decent dude do and completely forget about your meaningless existance.

----------------------------------------------------

Now, Seriously, death threats and "Dox"(even a light one like this) should be just ground for ban. I'm tired of sending tickets and prints of ppl doing that and once i'm sure bhvr has no interest in doing anything i hope some sore losers can read this and just realize that instead of scaring someone, they are just being an object of laugh.

If you ever receive any of these, dont get scared or anything, really.. Whoever do this is just a virgin lame frustrated kid and they can't barely smash a fly. Don't put yourself in blues mood coz of them.

Problem is, not everyone is going to see it as a laugh. What if one day they do it to the wrong person? We've see the effects of Cyber Bullying over the years, and all it takes is to do it to the wrong person, and they could end up harming themselves. Regardless of wether it's a threat or not, this stuff should be taken seriously by both Valve and BHVR, even Microsoft, Sony and Nintendo should they do it via messaging on those consoles. Cyber Bullying is not ok, and should not be ignored by anyone. Especially devs who are supposed to be dealing with reports like this.

Unless you went through the trouble of registering with an Internet Authority for your own public subnet, the IP would come back as your ISP. Not as your home address.

this is a federal law violation. yes you can report this to both steam AND dbd for action. but you must do the right things to get it noticed:

    1) take screen shots or a video clip of that section of the over all video

    2) click the report section on the scoreboard screen and report them properly

    3) go to the support page and submit a ticket with the required information and an action of "Additional Player report information" which allows the players to be specific and type out responses, and even submit link info or pictures.

    4) relax, they can't tell you anything after you submit it so you have to accept you did your best at that point.

    5) the next step is to report their steam profile.
