Dead by Daylight should no longer be affected by an outage. Players logging into the game between September 26 3PM ET and September 28th 3PM ET will receive 1M Bloodpoints as compensation.

Distortion with Unlimited Tokens would help break up the survivor meta.

One less perk slot for Decisive, Borrowed Time or Unbreakable plus Killers who use BBQ & Chili for blood-points shouldn't have a problem with this small buff. Plus if killers rely on aura reading perks to stay in red ranks this could help the devs push wider changes to the game to help break the perk balance bubble we are currently stuck in where the same few perks are seen on both survivor and killer.

I'd be onboard with being able to earn tokens back somehow, but not an unlimited amount. That would completely negate far too many killer perks just by simply existing. I think we can all agree three tokens for an entire match is too meager though.

    "Buff Object of Obsession"

    "small buff" yeah ok.

Just run Object and you'll be able to see the killer with zero downside. No thank you.

Maybe give it four tokens instead of three, or regain them pebble-style.

BHVR has implemented limits to perks before, Object could simply override any effects Distortion has so that you are always visible when looking at the killer.

... but that would give one survivor perk, which could be run on all four survivors, the ability to completely nullify multiple killer perks and add-ons. The devs have added a bunch of tracking perks because they want killers to find survivors, no one likes playing with survivors who just hide in bushes for the entire match.

Having exceptions like that is bad perk design. Even if Object didn't exist, there are far too many perks and addons that involve aura reading to have an unconditional counter to. I'd be all for giving Distortion a way to get a couple of extra tokens in the trial, but removing the tokens entirely would be too much.

Is it really though? Object of Obsessions original purpose is for the killer to tunnel you rather then used as a SWF information tool. Removing the ability to hide your aura keeps the perk doing what it was originally intended to do. If four survivors equip Distortion and negate one killer perk what exactly happened besides survivors and killers being down 1 perk? It could also have the added benefit of not showing you on other survivors aura reading perks like Bond, Empathy or Kindred stopping sandbaggers from bringing the killer to you or arguably weakening your team in the case of Kindred which I think is a fair tradeoff.

It's not gonna always just counter 1 perk though, is it? It has the potential to counter every perk a killer brings, plus addons, unconditionally. That's way too much for one perk.

Worst part of this is that you don't leave scratch marks while its active, object + freddy + distortion + iron will + lucky break

you can always see freddy, freddy can never see you, you never leave any scratch marks, or make sound, or leave blood

nearly untrackable while also never being able to get mindgamed at a loop

and this is just 1 example

    better change

if you are in the killers terror radius for 30 seconds you get a token back

or if you get hooked you get 2 tokens back
